Always did it that way, a hell of a record to try to recompose drumwise as a glad amateur drummer! :) He does it in the "marsh intro" as well, one hand on floor tom, one snare, all 16s... 😅

@@robertseightytwo4385 That's not derived from old school punk. Lol. 16th notes are commonly played with one hand. Many groves don't allow you to use 2 hands. People play 1 handed hi hat 16ths in many genres. Even funk and some more mellow stuff. It's just a signature of understanding how to play the drums in general.

Do you want them to do what, write lyrics that suck off capitalist bullshit cause they like to play festivals ? Play only nation states that run their own economy ? Well considering that they are a swedish band, they kind do, at least they play a lot in a state that is worried about economical fairness. Hope that you write again this super clever and inovative critcism in fugazi video's comment sections making the same complaint about how they charged 5 bucks for a concert and praising cuban punk bands, the only ones, according to you, that are allowed to criticize any abuse of economical power. For the rest of us, that are not neoliberalism fan boys, the lyrics become even more relevant once they are played in events that have a massive repercussion and tend to make a larger group of people think and vote for politicians who might make the rules harder for sponsors and producers, I would call it smart even.
@itsyeaboi53334 жыл бұрын
tbh interpreted this song / album as more of a revolution within the punk genre than actual anarchy against society or whatever. yeah sure theyre playing it in a live concert setting but im sure theyve already paid their dues playing in smaller venues before. not everybody can be fugazi and have the sort of chops u can live off of without selling out even a tinsy bit. pretty much every band does this unless ur some super hardcore underground band a kid from across the world may never listen to (or even want to listen to if ur such a edgelord about making deeply rooted political music u attack ur fans on twitter cuz they dont embody the mindset of being straight edge) but band time is a hobby because u still have a 9 to 5. sooner or later ur gonna have to come to grips with reality, just to quote slc punks, u can only really make real change if ur within the system not outside it. this show couldve inspired a new guy or gal to form a band that continues the punk legacy and thats what the music is really about at least to me - upending narrow minded straight hardcore punk but still sticking in that kind of hardness and roots without having to sound trendy like (post) grunge or pop punk in favor of experimentation and risks in the music (it definitely pioneered the posthardcore what we know now away from just the bass line heavy fugazi post hardcore that was happening around simultaneously). hate it all u want this album and this song will forever be gemstones in punk whether the vast majority of punkers know it or not, im glad these guys got their shine here and are still getting their shine.
