True story. Years back my gf worked at a box store. They had everybody come in early to watch a loss prevention video. It was set up on a cart. TV, VCR and the tape. It wasn't long she came back home. I said that was quick. She said everybody was gathered around. The manager went to get the cart and came back saying everybody go home, no loss prevention training video today. Somebody stole it! TV, VCR, Tape and cart.

How is that a good idea or policy? All the thief has to do is, - take a photo of the signature with their phone(depending on how old this video is) -bring a magic marker or buy one and copy the signature. Maybe using different cashier to mix things up

@@butcheredalive I might have done that once lol. But I was doing a lot of retail theft while I was in active drug addiction... and we very rarely got caught. It's gotten more difficult lately but there are still better ways. This guy is doing too much. You go in and get what you want and you leave... the faster you are the better. And to go very early or right before they close...loss prevention is less likely to be there. I don't do that anymore though lol

Technically the vacuum was $119.99. The price tag on the item was $29.99. So if you take the full value of the vacuum and add the 119.99 instead of the $90.00 difference the total stock saved would be $795.12 instead of $765.13. Loss prevention would want the full value of the item not the price difference between the tag and what is was marked for.

This training helps a lot, you can't imagine when new colleagues or cashiers come in and there are managers who don't even bother to train them, this video would not help to eliminate thefts at all, it depends on practice, but it would reduce them with these first-rate ideas hand and easy disposal
