Don't quit Costco so fast. They have MERIT at the same time. DEI refers to hiring, but after hiring, the Costco merit evaluation program then fires the non-meritorious DEI hires. I've seen it happen at my local Costco. The hiree is sort of lackluster, and the next times I come back, that employee is completely gone. So having a strong merit-based evaluation program allows Costco to have a DEI hiring process.

Hold on a second. I'm a big fan of Costco, and this news irked me a bit. But then I thought, wait a second. Everybody I've ever dealt with at various Costco locations has been great! I'd say far above average for the service industry. So why boycott a company that is doing exactly what I want them to do? Provide good service and products! We love Costco BUT we will leave if they continue supporting political agendas and not America. They sell A LOT of china products so it's getting hard to find anything but food sources etc.

It's the customer that makes these companies successful. These companies need to make sure they're not infringing on their employees rights. DEI infringes upon the people that don't check the boxes even though they're more than qualified.

Costco has changed a lot in the last 7 or 8 years. I used to love them. Cancelled my membership 6 months ago.

Just joined Costco. Could care less about who they hire, that's their problem, not mine. I only see White folks working at my Costco anyways. I self check out so I don't deal with people. I find my own items so lazy workers isn't my concern either. As long as the prices are affordable I will continue to shop there. If it ends up getting ghettoed up then I will move on.
