Retajao was the main location during the making of the documentary Trashumancia (2011) ( • TRASHUMANCIA. Vaquería... ).
We recorded a large amount of material to finally release a 37-minute short film.
Ten years later the rushes are being reviewed to share sequences with numerous unpublished shots, generating the episodes of a series that we have called "Retajao".
In this episode we are located on the Aguaro river, crossing mainly horro cattle and cows with large calves. The crossing has been divided into two chapters to make the experience more intense and punctual. The second part is the crossing of the cows with small calves that were shipped in the RETAJAO episode. COWS AND CALVES ( • RETAJAO. VACAS Y BECER... ) and the meeting of cows and calves in the corrals on the Garcita shore.

Man and animal. Animal and man. Who depends on whom? Which one arrives at its destination first? Llaneros and cattle, facing the same risks as every year, undertake a journey, a move, a transfer that is summed up in an ancient practice, necessary and vital for both: transhumance.

Trashumancia is part of the documentary feature film Llanerías, released in commercial theaters in Venezuela through the Gran Cine Circuit on October 21, 2016.
Llanerías shows you in 78 minutes a triptych about life in the Colombian-Venezuelan Los Llanos.

Synopsis of Llanerías:
Three stories linked by their cultural and natural context: Los Llanos del Orinoco Medio. Transhumance, moving thousands of cattle for weeks on end; Koridel, the calf and her brothers, fishing and playing; Galleros, a family dedicated to its two hundred feathered gladiators. The immense and deep plain, observed carefully and freshly.
Shorts fused in the same length, which add up to a dozen awards in Venezuelan festivals and official selection in countries such as Argentina, Australia, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Ecuador, the United States of America, Mexico and Uruguay.
