Showing control groups is also a pretty good QoL update. There's honestly alot of QoL changes that SC2 got right. The biggest glaring problem is the balance really.

+Sharil Shahed "Good" is not always accompanied with "popular". For example, you can look at Jagged Alliance 1, JA 1 DG, JA 2, JA 2.5 UB or great, spectacular mod JA 2 v.1.13 (10/10 fabulous series of Tactic-TBS-RPG, but rather niche). Gorky 17 (a little bit scary Turn-Based RPG), Arcanum (more commonly known, but still niche compared to Fallout and Baldur's Gate) or very pleasant Xenonauts (compared to X-Com / UFO series in the late '90). :) Please don't get me wrong. I love SC I + BW (9/10), and very like SC II (8/10), but sometimes it is worth to do some experiments with games which are not pumping 90% of their budgets to international promotion. With relatively short campaign, no skirmish mode and couple of unfinished ideas, Original War (9+/10) is, IN MY OPINION, still better (climatic, creative and advanced) than StarCraft or even Command & Conquer together. :)

+Tomasz M. Krystyan but sometimes games can be both really good and popular, starcraft did start with being that and perfected the rts genre in the sequel. In the same way, just cause something is underrated doesn't mean its always better than the popular games of the same genre. Since you've probably played them, games like empire earth, age of mythology, rise of nations, age of empires 2 were excellent rts, and I'd often like to think the latermost could be equal or better than Starcraft. But most critics and experts who reviewed this games would vote for Starcraft II. But now that you mentioned it I'd like to try out this game in a free time.

Bro update your game, the siege tank shouldn't explode like that when it hits the CC. Otherwise this is pretty much typical Brood War pathing behavior. Nothing you won't see almost every game.

explanation: there was a bug that allowed a siege tank to enter siege mode underneath a command center, so it was either that or random exploding tanks.

0:38 That's intentional. Ranged units have a 1% or 2% chance to miss. Note that the weapon hits _south_ of the unit, rather than right in the middle of the SCV sprite like normal.

The 0 damage sunken colony is because every attack (at least ranged, i dunno about melee) has a very small chance of missing and doing 0 damage to the target. The projectile will hit nearby the target and do no damage or splash damage. If you played snipers you'd rage about it all the time :P

@1proudkorean actually no, it just seiged. Whenever a tank begins seige mode under a structure it is supposed to explode. This was patched in after abuse early on in the game patches. Side not, you can still seige under buildings if you time it perfectly though.

esau817 & Layne17 if I remember correctly, there used to be a trick where you could land buildings on seige tanks and make them immune to melee damage, so they made it so units that had buildings land on them be destroyed. likely the tank glitches into the command center slightly and triggered the destruction.

I believe its cause of a replay glitch, where some times units perform slightly different actions from the game. In this case, the tank may have been glitched into siege mode while inside a landed building (Which actually kills the unit).

0:40 probes aren't targets for the mines. They never were targets as I remember. Also alot of these buggs accured after blocking the unit.

It was the imperfect AI that made the game so great. It made players exploit the errors and micro around it which brought surprising often great results. I cant believe blizzard decided to ditch it in SC2 because the game is pretty boring, you mass up an army, fight and win. Kinda why SC2 is boring outside watching progames and why BW is still played in higher numbers in Korea

I had a bug where zergling was on top of the hatchery unable to command while cannot be attacked by melee units. I cannot even select him as an attack target when i tried i always select a hatchery.

@JosueC730 My Theory: You can move a unit right under a lifted building when it is about to land and you could do that with a Siege Tank a long time ago so that you had a Siege Tank sieged IN a building,so it couldnt be attacked by melee units To prevent that Blizzard let any stationary unit die instantly that is currently inside something else(burrowed units too). And I think in that case the ST wasinside the SCV and tried to siege...

Yea, at the time, but the other guy was comparing it to a modern-day game. I was defending SC, considering (at the time) the graphics were amazing and, even if the graphics sucked, it was one of the best games of the time period. More importantly, SC and SC2 beat any MW game, hands down.

You should make one of these using the patrol glitch. You know what im talking about? -Put an air unit on patrol to a point very close to it. -Than you use another air unit and span left click on the patrolling one. (You will collide with it and shift it slightly off course) -Than quickly move away from the patrolling unit. -If you shifted it just the right distance away from the original rally points, the air unit should keep spinning in circles until it sees something to attack.

Did you hate the game when you watched this. Or did you hate it 14 years ago when it came out.... This game was one of the most popular of its time. In Starcraft 2 the AI pathfinding is not anywhere near as bad it was in SC:BW. But even so 14 years ago the AI pathing was godly.
