Overall look at the Retay Gordion Waterfowl model, patterning revelation, and a recoil pad hack that blew my mind! Watch till the end.

Actually…one of the best videos out there explaining these features. Nicely done.

My Gordion has performed flawlessly. It patterns beautifully and points naturally. I had a question and Retay USA customer service promptly called me back to answer my question. I would strongly recommend the Gordion to anyone looking for a hunting gun.

Ditto on the Gordion....and yes, customer service and their attentiveness is the best I've experienced in any company in a long while. Can hardly wait to get the 20ga twin to my 12.

Inertia-plus makes certain the bolt is ALWAYS in battery on Retay shotguns. No matter how slowly you engage it, the bolt will seat itself.

You are a wonderful presenter and am interested in this one. Has inertia plus too.

Individual shotguns pattern different shells differently. Choke tube constriction and brand makes a difference too. Try your Beretta with different shells and chokes.
@pawpawcotee8 ай бұрын
I agree. That is why I pattern tested 5 brands of shells in every OEM choke tube that came with my shotguns with multiple loads of both lead and steel shot from 40 -60 yds.

Thinking about getting one of these in 20ga. Thing feels real sweet in the hands and would be a great mountain grouse gun.

Should work great for that application.

Nice video. What is the Limbsaver Part number that you put on the Retay?
@pawpawcotee Жыл бұрын
Part # 10817.... same pad that fits the Beretta A300 Outlander. Just have to drill new screw holes in the pad to line up with the Retay screw holes in the stock.

im choosing between gordion or weatherby element , element felt good in my hands but the lop was almost too long. only thing that im worried about is the front sight being red because im red green colorblind, so i think that would be a problem hunting
@pawpawcotee Жыл бұрын
@colinq9697 The LOP will determine how comfortable you are mounting the gun and managing it during the shot process. If you haven't already checked your LOP, there are several methods you can find here on KZbin. I shoot instinctively and have no front beads on my shotguns, because I don't look at them. But in your case, you'd probably have to purchase an aftermarket front bead like in white. Do you shoot a lot off-season?
@colinq9697 Жыл бұрын
Okay, i tested my lop with the element at sportsmans and they said it was normal and felt pretty good, no problems reaching the trigger but it would be nice if it was a little closer. i want to get my hands on a retay in person, I'm having problems finding some here in stores. I don't do a lot of shooting off-season, maybe a few sessions here and there. Mostly dove hunt. Your right about that, the green bead on the weatherby is more like a yellow for me so that works fine haha but I need to see if the red works

@@colinq9697 yep...a gun can have all the bells and whistles but if it doesn't feel good in your hands you'll never fall in love with it. I hope you success in settling on the gun you'll enjoy.

@@pawpawcotee thank you!! dove season starts here sept.1 so have a month or so to figure it out

Might have the same problem I had. I went from a 13.5" to 14" LOP in my preteens and then shot that length of pull for decades. A few years ago I decided to find out what I really need when I was buying a new shotgun. Àn acquaintance (His daughters are currently national level collegiate shooters) told me he could "rough out" my length of pull (You don't want to know what his daughter's fittings by a real professional cost). At 14 7/8" it took a while to get back to par. It's impossible to say how much was fit, real instruction (which I had never had) and practice, but my best opening day of dove season was 67% hit percentage before. This year it was 83%. If you are going to use the same gun for Dove and Waterfowl you may need to setup for duck weather and add spacers to make up for lack of clothing. You can use a recoil shield to make up the difference during dove season instead, but your friends will absolutely roast you.

@@falahaldoshan6417 Yes, it would be good for Upland game. You will be impressed with the factory choke tube performance.
