Looks exactly the same as a radio I have: a HanRongDa HRD 737, which is a neat little experimenter’s radio and has the exact same long wire antenna attachment. The frequency response is fantastic, given the length of the antenna, which is why they supplied the extra wire antenna.

The VHF picks up some FM stations that are not coming in strong on the FM band. VHF has wide and narrow. If you have trouble receiving the NOAA signal, toggle to narrow VHF. Functions take a while to get used to. Does its job very well.

No, no SSB mode, but all the bands are there so about 90% of what is on the air can be pickup up with it.

It’s such an underrated ssb radio . If you already have I can’t find it and I’ve seen all your videos related to the band for the most part. No s CB radio is 11 meter band, the closest band that hams use is 10 meter. Ham operate on SSB. I have seen some CB that have been modified to operate on the 10 meter band.

That’s a receiver. Only Retekess have FM transmitter, VHF mic/aux transmitter (195 - 230 Mhz) FM transmitter (76 - 108 MHz).

Im trying to set up a small radio room where i have the ability to hear almost everything. I purchased a CCRANE skywave ssb AM, FM, SW, AIR, WB radio and a President CB McKinley ssb . Next I plan to purchase a scanner capable of get city, county. And state law enforcement. Not sure what brand or model yet . I'm still doing research . Those three radios will cover alot . But is there other bands I'm missing ?

Yes. I have the CountyComm GP5 ssb and it does. More expensive ($125 I believ) sadly it doesn't have the weather Channels. I'm sure there are others out there with better options.

I LISTENED ON CANADIAN MARINE WEATHER RADIO FREQUENCIES: 161.650, 161.775 MHz (WX8 and WX9) in English, 161.75 and 162 MHz (Motorola on WX10 and WX11) in French. CC SKYWAVE IS EXPENSIVE THAN JAPANESE ELPA ERC57WR. That one has LW tuner. No NOAA from ELPA. I prefer Midland ER210 for NOAA. CC SKYWAVE HAVE NOAA

the problem with these radios , is they scan so slow. i have old radioshack scanners that put these radios to shame. same with the boefang radios. if they scanned any slower, they would be scanning backwards. to slow to slow. the stuff is old 1970 junk crap. they are just recycleing old tech, with nothing new.. ive seen this over and over. i love electronics, but nothing is new under the sun.this stuff is probabley sitting in shipping containers forty--- fifty yrs. old. do you remember heath kits?

I have an HRD-104 radio from a different company, about 1 year old and it has the same casing and button layout so I assume it's from the same OEM as the one in this video. The power button stopped working and when I opened it up the pins had bent a couple mm and was the reason. I assume it was from pushing it on and off many times. Its not designed well and looks quite weak psychically compared to others designs I've seen. I have many old radios and they are built better. Considering that I tossed mine to the trash. Moved on.

This is a great radio for reception. However going to be sending mine back. You cannot turn it off.... tap the power button once it turns on, tap it again something else happens, hold it down for 10 seconds goes into sleep mode but still on, plug it into charge it turns on. You cannot turn it off. Power button does like 20 things only thing it does not do is turn it off. I do not want it draining the battery constantly. Very very very poor design around power consumption. Wanted to like it but when it is constantly draining battery with no way to stop it kind pointless to have. Very disappointed.👎👎👎

The clock will appear on the screen when the radio is turned off. Just wait for more than ten seconds and the screen will go off completely.
