If I buy a MLA-30 + loop, would I still need a Terk am antenna, or am I comparing apples and oranges? I'm confused in this regard.

I pick up tons of stations where I live. Note I listen to more than just Shortwave.

Shortwave is a bit of a no-man's-land. Not much happening and it's not interesting.
