Defintiley not something that everyone needs, but for us this little FRS (walkie Talkie) is gonna come in handy. We've been using it now for just over a week and find them quite useful. So if you need something like this for some simple communication these seem to be working very well. The fact that they have no screen is actually very helpful for blind/visually impaired individuals. I like they’re able to talk, and read the menus.

go in to setting menu and use the down button till everything is at zero and start over I have three radios that are not yours but work the same you will get about a mile as all the building's will interfear with your singnel take two plates one mile range each if one does not over lap the other you went to far I have same radios and tested them and came up with same problum,

Hey Greg they look pretty cool and nice review too. What is their distance? You tested that yet? They just like walkie talkies as we call them here in Scotland. Hope you and Mary get great use from them! Since changing my broadband the deal included Apple 4k tv and its a small box so I'm excited to use it. What's apple tv like? What's its best things and is there many movies and tv shows? Any advice on it? The price of these walkie talkies look pretty good to me not too expensive and not too cheap. Going to check them out as I bet there sold on amazon UK. Stay safe and have fun with these!

The farthest that ive tested is probably close to half a kilometer. But could possibly go further. But for us way more then the distance we would ever need. And there is lots of great shows on Apple TV+. We just started watching "Invasion". Slow start, but so far its pretty good.

Any FRS radios that doesn’t need license to operate, is very good for personal use. Even we have cellphones, convoy driving is faster to communicate, that is just one major reason I keep radios at my shack. Thanks for the reviews. Good for us right now we have a lot of choices for two way radios. 🙂

I , do not want to sound like a troll Greg but did you read instructions because I think you should have not the scan button that's why you picked up another radio . The radio was looking for another radio to connect too .

As a Sec. quard i could use a real good set several to be honost we had Kenwood and Motorola real A brands and sure there are good ones but we always got the lesser ones unfortunatly, nice seeing Mary enjoying herself helping out.

lol - we just text each other. Something like this would be ideal in a rural (farm setting), or on a movie set for the independent, low budget film producer. And pretty good pricing for larger quantities. You would want an earpiece though. Then you can just put it on your belt and have both hands free. lol - Mary was having lots of 'fun'. You could tell by the smile on her face! Thanks for helping Mary!

we usually text as well, but most times I'm so focused that I don't hear the text notification. Now she texts first and if I don't respond so used the FRS Radio. So far working well.

Legally Only 2watts no license need in Canada and U.S.A. .

It is not about what the radio says, it is about how many watts the law says you can transmit on. These are FRS radios, which means they can only transmit at a maximum of 2 watts on channels 1 through 7 and 16 through 22, but can only transmit at 0.5 watts on channels 8 through 15. The same 22 channels are shared with GMRS, but on GMRS radios channels 1 through 7 and 16 through 22 can transmit on 5 watts, but just like on FRS, channels 8 through 15 can only transmit on 0.5 watts. On this radio the wattage for each channel is already preprogrammed, but on a lot of radios it is up to the user to know the max wattage and set it themselves. So basically the radio is capable of using more watts, but by law they have to set the radio wattage or have a setting within the software that allows the user to set the wattage. For example, the Radioddity FRS T1 radio is one of the few FRS radios with a screen that allows users to set the wattage, and it is up to the user to know the max watts allowed for each channel. The Radioddity is also one of the few FRS radios that actually show the frequency instead of just the channel number. The Radioddity T1 radios come in a set, and you get 2 of them for around $30. Much better FRS radios than these, because you can control every setting from the radio.
