I had a set that I cut off about a year ago because they were thinning at the root because I was interlocking too close to my scalp, which made my locs thinner because there was no room for swelling or budding. Be careful so that you don't get the same thing

Hello Queentyquana, ThankYou your detailed Vids!! I’ve started to retie several times but get frustrated because either I’m Connecting Locs or I’m not pulling all the way thru thus creating knots at root!!😩 Another issue I have is that I purchased the 3 way mirror but my bathroom door is taller than the average door. My ceilings are at least 10 ft thus like I said my bathroom door is taller than the average door. What to do since the handles on the mirror are designed for the average doors of 6ft??!!!

Hi sis l am totally new to this, l haven't even begun my journey yet but I'm thinking l could do the 2 strand method myself. The question l want to ask is why wouldn't you twist the loc around your finger coil style and go in with the tool minimally? Wouldn't that keep the loc looking more uniform from scalp to tip? I'm thinking that retying all the way with the too will make the loc strand look very different in texture/style as it grows out? Please forgive any ignorance as l ssid l literally know NOTHING lol
@queentyquana Жыл бұрын
hi sis, thanking you for trusting me with your question 🤍 so i think you’d go that route if you are looking for a more uniform loc. me personally i like the volume and fluffiness this method gives me. yes, i do get a different texture on the parts where i two strand twisted (bottom portion) vs the parts that are interlocked. the ends are bigger/ more fluffy compared to the roots. let me know if i answered your question if not i will try again lol
@mizzmention8555 Жыл бұрын
@@queentyquana lol its ok sis you answered perfectly! I was concerned maybe l didn't explain well. Ok so l REALLY like the fluffiness... my hair is fine, low density and my head is small lol. I'm thinking start with the 2 strand twist and coil with fingers as it grows out, then go in with tool once or maybe twice max just enough to stop the unravel. I'm trying to adapt things to suit my hair and style. Does it sound like a plan? Can you see any drawbacks to it? Don't worry I'm not about to hold you accountable, just would like your opinion 😊

Looks lovely. Do you have to retwist the 2 strand twists every time or do you just leave them after the initial install?

Heyyy hope you’re doing well. I just have a question. I’m ready to retie my hair but I wanted to know do you suggest washing your hair before the retie or afterwards? I asking because I didn’t interlock the back originally and this will be my first retie and if I wash it first I’m scared my locs will untwist as a few have already. Just wanted to know your opinion. Thanks
@queentyquana Жыл бұрын
(gonna answer here too in case someone else wants to know) i usually wash the day before i plan to inrerlock so by then my hair is completely dry.

I’m still learning. But is it ok if a few of my locs have knots in them? Maybe im doing too many rotations, feeling like it needs to be “tight”. Hopefully as I keep doing it, it’ll be easier. I’m sick of spending money to pay for someone to do it for me.

Hey could you explain why you don’t do the 4-point rotation? Would you happen to know the difference and would you consider trying the 4-point rotation instead?
@queentyquana2 жыл бұрын
honestly i went with the w point rotation because it seemed simpler than 3 & 4 pt. i’ve heard that 2 point rotation allows you to have more volume vs a 4 point rotation from others on YT who’ve tried both. i think i will stink with the 2 point rotation for maximum volume

The uneven parts and she did like 10 loops to lock the loc. is that what it takes? I want locs so bad but this seems a lot. Do you have to loop so many times ? How do u know u have looped enough?
@AccioXwing4 ай бұрын
She has a lot of new growth, if you retie earlier there are less loops to do, but it’s just based on how much new growth you have. Also in my opinion you just stop right before it’s all the way to the scalp, so it’s not too tight, but some go all the way to the scalp.
@raimatgallo2 жыл бұрын
also does it hurt to retighten your locs?

it doesn’t hurt unless you interlock too tight. the first day or so after retightening your scalp may be a little sensitive but not to a point of pain.
