Hello Chris, many thanks for this video! I've watched many of them but this is the first one that you cover cleaning. Can you always put rangefinder elements with silver (ie mirrors, etc.) into a ultrasonic cleaner? Are there times when you wouldn't? Would be appreciative if you could post a cleaning video sometime.

Surface-silvered mirrors and semi-silvered mirrors are both very delicate and if you overdo the cleaning, the silver will clean completely away leaving nice, clear glass. So, I am always careful not to use the ultrasonic cleaner too long.

Is this the same procedure as for the IIc (small 'c') ? Mine works fine and adjustment seems right but the viewfinder is quite yellowed to look through - will this cleaning process remove the yellowing ?

No, the finders are quite different. The yellow is a feature, not a bug.

Merry Christmas Chris. The chronology of the folding Retinas has me confused, do the type numbers indicate the chronology of manufacture? In the list on your collection page, it seems a bit all over the place. Is it possible to make sense of it all? Your list even has two type 021, although there is two types listed. I have a IIIc and I wonder why the IIc with larger rangefinder looks like a later model. If the answer is too convoluted for a comment response, could we have a video sometime? If the answer is that it is just too difficult to make any sense of it, that is fine.

Kodak's naming of models was just a big mess. Trying to assign any logic to it at all is probably futile. Other manufacturers were just as bad. Merry Xmas too! Just sitting down after Xmas dinner, a quiet time and a few beers is the order of the day.
