That re-tipping work looks very precise. May I ask, what kind of welder did you use? And free-hand?

Freehand with a pulse arc welder. Of course, this is not the industry standard welder, but it does do the job.

I just stumbled upon this video, which makes me think about my Montblanc 149 whose nib needs to be retipped and ground down to a double extra-fine. Do you make this kind of job? Thank you very much!

Try to buy some nib with 1.5mm diameter iridium balls welded on the tips from online shopping in China, which are specially used for diy with different styles. About less than $0.50 each.

I have. They cost about $6 each for me. The weld isn't very stable.

Prayer, steady hands, and Dedeco 0.005 slitting discs.

@@ameliabuns4058 I use a Foredom, a Dremel-like tool. You might be able to find the discs at Gesswein.com.

A micro pulse arc welder.

A Dremel tool and a super thin abrasive disc.
