I own storage facility in NC it is good idea if you plan to start on this but the first step is checking with your zoning in your town

Nice video series!! We have used mostly Trachte buildings for our ground up builds and conversions. They engineer in the rake angles you were talking about as part of their overall structure. This really helps to not only hold the building together, but also provides that extra layer of security between units.

nice one subscribed, how much was the total cost ? I want to do self storage but with Brand New Shipping containers instead, I feel they are more agile, you can make tiny houses out of them, you can relocate them, they are much much stronger , better for fire , better for rain, better for security, you can't really break into the neighbour wall,I mean you have to cut 2 thick walls a lot harder than those tiny sheets of metal, did you look into that as well before building ?

The total cost for everything was around $1.9 million. The shipping containers could work. The local municipality will probably have rules on how many of them you can use, if any. That was one issue I ran into early on. Some municipalities have rules against them, but if they'll let you do it and the price is right, go for it!

Trachte made sure any gaps at top were closed. I never had to bring it up. They just close all space between units. Maybe the GA company saved money there. Labor and materials and shipping.

I think it makes a bigger difference in climate controlled facilities. In cold storage (non-climate controlled) facilities like ours, the condensation issue isn’t nearly as important.
