I'm retiring at the end of 2023. This video convinced me not to consider Vietnam as a possible retirement country. I visited Vietnam in December, 2013, and really like DaNang. It's time to research Cambodia and schedule a holiday there.

It's true, the biggest pain-point right now is the visa for long-term staying. Surely Cambodia will be more straightforward in terms of paperwork to get yourself your retirement visa. Have fun !

Obviously, I'm a little late finding this video but it was refreshing to finally see an interview with a foreigner (expat) that's over the age of 35. There's seems to be a few problems with attempting to retire to Vietnam without being married to a Vietnamese. Nonetheless, it was an interesting video. I'll look elsewhere in SE Asia.

Hi Vinl, this setup doesn't work anymore. You need to be eligible for Work Permit or Investor visa (requiring you to invest some capital into your company), it's them more than 200 usd ;)

@MoveToAsia
@MoveToAsia Жыл бұрын
@Vinl33 Yes it's important to mention there has to be an investment put upfront such as 50k usd. So not only 200 usd @GetSmart Paul ;). As the incorporation fee, it's around 2-3 k usd to get proper advice, a good english speaking support and all the paperwork done on your behalf by a professional. You can surely find cheaper deals, but I doubt what you get ...
@vinl3358
@vinl3358 Жыл бұрын
@@MoveToAsia that is true. Foreigners who don't speak the language have to hire english speaking firms who charges at the rate you are saying. I am just lucky that i had friends who already knew the language who helped me and by now i speak the local language too. Hence no need to pay the higher price to get advise. Some firms charge even up to 7-8k usd. I almost went with a firm which was planning to charge me 3k usd but i got advise from friends who stayed here for 30 years already by now.
