To get legal pensioner/retirement residency in Ecuador requires a minimum of $800 a month for one person and an addition $100 or so for dependents. Nicaragua used to be cheaper, but now requires $1000 US a month for singles and $150 a month more for dependents. Otherwise, you will have to leave every six months and stay out of Ecuador for six months.

There was no mention of Wi-Fi or cell phone service. Perhaps that is part of the intentional living lifestyle at the eco-resort? He was talking about assisted-living type of situations which sounds curious only because it looks like there is a lot of stair climbing and hilly situations which could prove to be very challenging for elderly or physically challenged people. How quickly could emergency services get to this location? I’m not sure why the meals included plan cost $300 a month where as if you go there as a visitor you have to pay $30 a day or let’s say $900 a month? Thanks 🙏
