I agree, I think he is a very sensible and intelligent General. I think Putin backed into a corner would use them or more likely, chemical weapons against cities.
@matsfrommusic2 жыл бұрын
@@joetuktyyuktuk8635 I think that depends a little bit on how the western world responds, ie, he would use it if nobody's watching no matter in what situation. That's why I think Bidens respons was great and very important. This whole war got the wrong focal point from the very beginning, as it's the people around him that is important to get to, and in order to do that we should have targeted him directly and openly in hope that it would've made them to give him up eventually, just by self perseverance I mean. But yes, I think he understands that open that door is another level all together so exactly where that missile would hit, matters less.
@mattn70072 жыл бұрын
From a layman's view does make much sense why russian troops would use tactical nuclear weapons in ukraine knowing NATO would be activated, in fact, if a tactical nuclear were to be used it would be better to target staging areas of the weapons shipments into ukraine. Knowing that NATO would intervene regardless of where the weapons.

So the US Government actually doesn't want Russia to revolt and get rid of Putin that way, because there are nukes all over Russia and if it goes to new hands, or is broken up into smaller nations, those nukes will potentially be dangerous. Yes Putin is a maniac, but he's the demon we know vs the demon(s) we don't, and is still viewed as more stable when it comes to restraint in using nukes. Ideally the US will want to offer him a way out, so he can pull out of Ukraine while saving as much face as possible. His people would surely replace him, but at that point it's a domestic political spat rather than international war. A transition to a new leader is great, but a violent uprising overturning all of Russian law and borders and institutions is actually quite dangerous. We might think we want to see the whole Russian system overturned, but really that could be a bad thing. Best to let the people of Russia vote and change their system incrementally vs uproot the whole thing and destabilize that entire region for a decade or more. And the same goes for the US. We should want incremental change, not violent overthrow. Putin hasn't used nukes. But if Russia breaks into 50 different independent nations all fighting each other, who knows how those nukes might be used. It's the not knowing that's scary. Yeah, the US will offer Putin plenty of opportunities to end this as gracefully as he can. The question is, will he accept any of them.

"The United States forces did not lose, they left. Usually, people affiliate the phrase losing a war to actual defeat. In fact, Webster Dictionary defines “lose” as “to undergo defeat.” When people hear the misguided statement that America lost in Vietnam, it infers that the North Vietnamese Army/Viet Cong beat the U.S. militarily. The following are some facts that prove the point that the American military actually won in Vietnam. America never lost any major battles in Vietnam, yet the North Vietnamese lost many, including the 1968 Tet Offensive. America never lost or gave up ground, yet many NVA/VC strongholds were decimated. America lost approximately 59,000 dead during the Vietnam War, yet the NVA/VC lost 924,048. America had 313,616 wounded; the NVA/VC had approximately 935,000 wounded. North Vietnam signed a truce on Jan. 27, 1973, which included several agreements as follows: • That the demilitarized zone (DMZ) at the 17th parallel would remain a provisional dividing line between North and South Vietnam. • No military movement across the DMZ. • Would not use force of any kind to unify the country."

Glory to Ukraine with the help of the West and Europeans countries as well. This will make Russia a weaker country for the future and give the UN agenda an easier task to watch over Russia future invasions.
