Retired in Jamaica and Ready To Buy a Car!

Today we begin our search for buying a car in Jamaica! While we've enjoyed rebuilding our perspective of simple Jamaican living, we're now ready to purchase our very own vehicle. But first, Dave is off to school while Sonia and I sit down and call a few dealers around the island to see what's available. Later, we head to Highgate for some quick shopping and lunch before we head to the dealership to check on a Toyota Voxy. When we reach home, its time for an intervention while Sonia vents and we enjoy some kidney and rice, homework, and another crazy Andre goodbye. Richness is Life.

Tyler, you are reflecting love as defined in 1 Corinthians 13:4. I think the viewers are offering some good advice regarding being safe about discussing money. I also observe that the boys , less so for Dave, struggle with the English language. They predominantly communicate in patios, therefore they have difficulty comprehending and responding as if English is a second language. They should be encouraged to communicate in English as this will help them in the future to integrate and mobilize in society smoothly. Tyler and Sonia sending love and respect from the UK, I just wanted to address a few points Regarding "The Boys," I read a comment that compelled me to dive into the discussion immediately. It's about how the boys speak and respond in broken English The boys seem reluctant to participate and often respond negatively for instance when assisting them with their homework and a qustion is asked they might reply with (me don't know,) indicating a disregard for boundaries, it's important for you and Sonia to establish clear boundaries regarding their actions and behaviour. Teaching them mindfulness and self-regulations is also curtail, which will develop over time

So far you are doing it right, check around, make sure the car has a fitness certificate (the mart is responsible for this) also ask for a recent valuation report that gives an idea of what the value really is (not mandatory) do a wire transfer or ask the bank to draw a managers check to be made out to the company's name (NOT an Individual name) xyz Auto not an individual. Ask to test drive the vehicle, listen out for any odd sounds. Do not be afraid to negotiate the price. If you take a mechanic to evaluate the car, make sure its a competent one (not one who will discourage you from buying a particular vehicle simply because he/she inst qualified or equipped to service/repair such car) happy shopping also some marts will off to register the vehicle for you so its less "run up & down' and long lines at tax office for the customer.

It's much cheaper if you can sort out the logistics. Our goal was to buy from a local dealership not to save money, but for convenience and assisting the local community dealership.
