When the unions blackmail the employers who gave them their job in the first place, and this happens every four or five years, then eventually the product they are manufacturing gets too expensive for the buyers to buy. How many JDs do you own ? We have 11 . The "repair" BS is just that ... BS . One can repair any tractor they desire ... Just that if you made modifications to the electronic module of a 6r110 to pull like a 6r140 ... Then your warranty is nulled and if the unit gets to return to a JD dealer it will be set back to ORIGINAL status of 110hp . I own a 6r110 and a 6r130 ...almost the same machine BUT ... The fuel electronic module is set differently and torque curves are not remotely the same ... Price tag difference : 30K . If I were to seek a fly by night geek to "tweek" my 6r110 to 130 specs ... It would cost me about 1K $ ... Do you understand now ? People who claim JD is against farmers repairing their units ... are lying . They are people that did NOT pay for what they claim to have . Electronic modules and settings are PART of the sale also . You could simply have bought a 6r130 if you desired 143 hp instead of 110 . Questions ... I can help ... I am not a JD employee , just an Upstate Farmer .

@@niniv2706 So what you're saying is all those people that complain about it are full of it? All of them, they just don't understand. You have 11 pieces, you're one of the bigger customers, let me also guess you buy them new from the dealer, you know people there for a long time etc. Now be the guy that buys them used, has 2, and always gets outside repairs done, or does it himself. That person is treated in a "we'll get to you when we get to you", while they rush out to service your stuff. If you read fine print on your purchase agreement you own the hardware, you are LEASING the software, the stuff that runs around in the ECU, you don't own it, JD can brick it any moment (just like they did in Ukraine when Russians took tractors). As it stands today, no one is allowed to have a computer scanner, (except JD service personnel) That means, if the engine throws a code, it can shut down the machine or put it in limp mode, no one but JD service has the computer to hook up to it and find out what's up. Why? They say because people will use it to bypass emissions devices....... that's being done no matter, they know it, all code is breakable, they know it, it's just an excuse. (Very few people care to bump up HP on so expensive equipment, (that's what the dealer told you isn't it? lol) and on warranty on top of it, and today, there is plenty of power in everything. Official stand from JD is the emissions thing, in front of congress anyways). Also, it's not just for shenanigans or major stuff. My truck (Cummins) threw a code and derated my truck, would not say why (plenty of display to say it) turned out coolant cap was loose, it could not have said that cooling system press is low, nah, STOP RIGHT THERE AND CALL SERVICE!! because a fricken coolant cap is loose. Also not a big deal unless you're overheating, at the same time. Why derate, why not let know which sensor is tripping? MONEY MONEY MONEY MONEY And this is much more wide spread then just JD, look up Louis Rossman (on you tube) for things your dealer will not tell you. But no worries, capitalist market fixes itself, there is at least one European tractor company that started setting up in US, full repair rights, fix it however you want to, computer and all. Very nice tractors, absolutely no worse then JD, but I don't know enough about them, I just drive them on and off my trailer.

Nothing chases away a business faster than a union .. And nothing breaks down faster than a John deer.

Small unions are fine, it's the large one's wanting huge profits for doing nothing but "negotiate".
People don't buy John Deere because of union workers. John Deere's leaving IA because of it...

Those Union dues and promises of standing up for workers are paying off well we see. Priced themselves out of a job.

Union busting just results in lower wage jobs, therefore more workers on government assisted food stamps and healthcare. What have the Corporate tax breaks done to incentivise giving back to the society that has made them wealthy? Nothing. Screw John Deere

I'm laughing at all the Union boys getting the pink slip from John Deere. Bye bye job forever. And bye bye lifetime pension. LOL. Now figure out a retirement plan at age 50. Especially when nobody is hiring no Union laid back off worker. LOL

There's a whole lot more than just the right to repair issue. If you visited your local John Deere store in the past decade you experienced excessively high prices and unskilled laborers. You paid the most and got the worst. I couldn't be more happy about the layoffs and stores closing these companies get so big they think they can get away with doing bad business and John Deere will be the first to learn this is not true. New Holland Kabota or CAT will be replacing Junk Deere in a town near you.

Yup. Quality is going to suffer big time. And I was wondering: If jobs are being relocated to Mexico, does that mean the US can relocate all the illegal migrants coming from Mexico?

Nope only the unproductive ones will be coming.

Stop whining, the UAW forced a 10% pay raise in 2021, 5% more in 2023 and 2025, added signing bonuses, retirement benefits, and now the workers are seeing the result of the strong-arming. If you want better wages, increase your marketability and your skills, don't coerce the employer to pay you more for the same skills. Because if you do, this is what happens, and this is exactly whats going to happen to the auto workers too. And before you use the "they have lots of money argument" that's not your money, its theirs, and you exchanged your labor for specific terms - none of which was profit sharing - which is what you should have bargained for.

Every union man I have know is always pissed at his employer. The unions brain wash them into thinking they are getting screwed so they strike to get more benefits and money and in return the union boss gets a healthy raise. They are doing the exact thing they speak out against!
