Back in tha day in Galveston Island Tx Bought 1 of 40ft CNG Flxible buses numbered (9201) with the same LTA-10G Cummins engines but with a Allison 4 speed transmission instead of the Voith witch made it very fast from take off.

And even back then, these buses still had the weird brake sounds that all CNG buses have. Man this bus sounds mad nice. 5 stars and fav'd.

Bus 9201 also made that humming noise you can here from blocks away when it deccelerate then it start to down shift. Man that was probably the fastest and meanest bus i rode on.

The CNG and Methanol MDT Flxible buses were very slow on take off and unreliable they were park for a long time till they were conerted to diesel.

Yeah it was a 1992 Flxible Metro C 40ft CNG bus with the LTA-10G cummins and ZF transmission, # (9201).

This bus and the other 4 CNG Flxibles we had were very slow a GMC Newlook with 6V71N engine and Allison VH-9- 2 spd would have clim a hill or a bridge faster now by 1995 these CNG Flxibles the MDT mechanics did some tipe of job on them wich made them run faster but By late 1995 the CNG Flxibles and Methanol Flxibles were park for a few years till they were converted to diesel.

I've never seen a Natural Gas Flxible before. Sounds even more smoother than the Diesel Cummins L10 Flxibles

We had the 40ft CNG with the LTA-10G cummins, Zf transmissin and the same right exhaust with the silver cap cover that tapped when down shifting in Galveston Tx

Our CNG Flxible was fast, the mechanics never had problems with it. From what I was told, it was the best bus they ever had.

No no i don't think so but i could be wrong they only had 5 CNG's and 5 methanol buses and they were all converted to diesel.

Wow I didn't know Flxible made other Natural Gas Buses and sent them to Texas. I wish the Cobb Community Transit could have had CNG Flxibles, but in 1996 Flixble went into closure.

Allison 4 speed on a Flxible are you sure that wasn't a ZF transmission on it?

Yes because I asked the bus driver and mechanic at the bus born.You can also tell by the way it ran throw the gears and down shift.
