It’s funny. I played this great game since I was 4 years old. Never took a stitch until I played in beer leagues, some double bladder falling all over the place got me with the end of his stick and ruined my modeling career.

Haha I played with Andre Dore in a beer league he fought the entire team in one shift. Was the best senior league season I ever played. Milford CT Also played with with the Captain of the Chiefs dude with the jaw haha he was in his late 60’s maybe 70’s was the best very humble guy

Gotta love neck high slappers from the blue line through tons of traffic. As a defenseman, I can’t stand Sunday night “heroes” who think they were just one bad tryout from a multimillion dollar contract. They are out there taking high hard slappers that usually hit their own player between the shoulder blades. If this sounds like something you as a player? CUT IT OUT! Also as a defenseman, I am sorry for leaving you out to dry on occasion…

@@jenslundy Honestly, in D league, I love the guys that take slap shots. I feel like 90% of the time, they just fire the thing off into the boards somewhere, and the rest of the time, it's usually one where the goalie makes the easy save because everyone can just step aside and let them just glove the thing on the way in. That said, they probably aren't as hard as the higher level slapshots.

League's with pro / college guys back home in the summer are a step up. We've got a handful of guys that play in the Cleveland league that has college and pro guys in the summer (SEL). AHL is a solid league and a cut above many European Leagues. If you had a career in the AHL then you went far as a pro, although unless you got called up to the NHL you never made big bucks but earned a decent living.

Because it’s beer league not the NHL, or major junior, or Pro if you pay for hockey you should wear face shield. Unless you have a fragile ego and need to compensate by not wearing face protection, and want to “pay” to get your face smashed.

Glad my rink isn't the only rink that leaves a friggin pond, game sucks for the first ten minutes or so. I chick that does the ice leaves it 90% dry by the end of the resurface. All Blacks need a little diversity EH!! :) :)
