I don't actively work on Database but whenever I need to clarify something, I come back to this video as the "Masterclass" and it just gives me clarity on some concepts. Thanks for making this!

Thx John for making this video, it was very helpful. I could never infer just from reading documentation which SQL offering should I use, there is SQL Server, Azure Database for MySQL, SQL Managed Instance, SQL Server on Azure VM - a lof of relational database products, lengthy documentations and headache when it comes to choosing right product. After watching this i have much better idea of what is going on with all the sql offerings. Thx!

Thanks John - Needed a bit more depth on Databases for the 305 exam, good as always. I think the DP-900 might be worth a look also to get data fundamentals to help with the overall architecture as end of the day, data is king 🙂

Hi John, great video a always. Regarding the Hyperscale architecture, there is one page server for each compute node or what is the ratio?
@NTFAQGuy2 жыл бұрын
No.
@ivanbravomunoz13052 жыл бұрын
@@NTFAQGuy what's the proportion then?
@NTFAQGuy2 жыл бұрын
Does not work that way. It’s not a ratio.

Thanks John, this is really helpful! One question in regards to Cosmos DB partitioning. The number of physical partitions scales out based on the size of the data stored (50GB per physical partition), and the RU is spread evenly. So if the size of the data reduced, for example, 500GB to 200GB, would the number of physical partitions scale in? Asking this question cause AWS DynamoDB won't reduce the number of partitions after it scaled out, wondering if Cosmos DB works the same. Thanks!

Hi John. Great vid! With VMs, it’s easy to run isolated test DR exercises. But how do you do this for the PaaS solutions like MI and Azure SQL, and put isolated instances in the same network as the VMs that need to be tested with them? Thanks
@NTFAQGuy3 жыл бұрын
I have separate video on vnet integration with paas. Should help. Most paas you can’t force failover, it’s just part of service but follow patterns about listeners, connections etc
