Can't tell you both how much we appreciate the shout out you gave our channel and so many folks came over to watch our videos. I have gotten over a hundred emails (and probably a thousand subscribers) from your viewers requesting one of our spreadsheets and they all mentioned the "I'm Not Lost I'm RVing" video you put out, and they all wanted to make sure we knew why they dropped by. That says a lot about how they feel about you two and your channel. The shout out from "I'm not I'm RVing" is the Gift that keeps on Giving for both of our channels. There are apparently quite a few folks out there thinking about this full time RV lifestyle, so all we need to do now is provide some informative and entertaining videos for these great folks that have stopped both of our KZbin Channels by to check and see just what kind of content we offer that might be of help or interest to them. I hope we can meet most of their expectations.

Hi guys, I love watching your videos and keeping up with your lifestyle. I am a 68 year old widow and I have been a full time RVer for 16 months and loving it. I am commenting on this video because I want people to know that I have been enjoying this life style on my social security income and a small savings account and I have been able to enjoy a free and wonderful life. I bought a teardrop trailer because I could pay cash for it at the time and I have a leased car which made my payments lower and I get regular maintenance at no cost to me. My income is 2,121.00. And most months I am able to put some money into my savings. I am a Thousand Trails member and I couldn't do this on my budget without having that membership. I don't do a lot of touristy things but I do save for certain things I really want to do. This winter is my second in Florida and I made a decision to buy an annual pass to Disney this year which was a major purchase but I don't do a lot of other things during the year so I splurged. I live a really full life enjoying retirement and meeting lots of wonderful people. I live simple but happy!! It can be done on a small budget!!

Great Story and thanks for sharing it, we have had a number of single folks inquire about the lifestyle for single folks and you have given them a lot more information that we could. It sounds like you are enjoying the lifestyle just like it is supposed to be done and hopefully you are motivating folks to realize that it can be done in a lot of different rv sizes and types with different budgets and lifestyles. it is a wonderful adventure.

Loved it! I clicked over here from "I'm not lost I'm RVing". My husband and I live fulltime in a travel trailer and traveled around here and there in the West in our first 2 years and spent quite a bit of money on campgrounds, but we did some boondocking too. This year we came home and are sitting stationary for a year to pay down debt and watch my granddaughter since my son needed help. We hope to get traveling again next year and are upgrading to a fifth-wheel. I am very interested in your info about Thousand Trails. I am going to check that out! Thanks for a great informative video about the costs of fulltime rv living.

We started out in June and our goal is to pray for our country in every capitol of the 48...we are at 32 and counting in Arizona on our way to Austin We are undecided about full time as our RV is home for now...full time is appealing, but our mileage distorts our concept we are over 13000 miles since June 10, with 30 days off in August...we are having fun living on our retirement breaking even with income...we have 5000 miles to go depending on how many stops we encounter with the capitols...we are covered with insurance coverage plus our health plan and missing grand kids....I love the road lifestyle

However, we feel like Patrick McGoohan. When we're gone from our house too long, we get drawn back. Instead of having balloon-based devices capturing us, our adult children, pets and pond fish (koi) keeps pulling us back home...LOL!

I had good friends named Bob and Pearl they RVed all over the USA too, they also used the RV as a tow vehicle for their USAC Midget race cars. Had a lot of good times going to the races in the back of the 1970s RV, when racing ended they retired and up graded to a new RV.

My grandfather loved hiking and backpacking as much as I do and we'll into his 70s we were still backpacking! We even did canoe races together! We were quite a team! It all depends on you passions. If something like hiking and backpacking is important enough to you, even in your 70s, you will find a way to make it work.

Yeah, I dont know if I can do what they do either. Maybe a medium between Next Exit and My Journey in Myles. I am debt free including the house for the last 30 years. But even on a budget and living comfortable, I can't see sitting around, pinching pennies and waiting to die. I want to see this country, experience things, go out and try new foods, meet new people. I dont think I can do that well sitting in my RV in TT from place to place, too worried that I'll go over budget if I venture out to do anything exciting.

Listen here you ole whipper snappers, I'm semi-retired. I say that cause I've done my 20yrs but I think I'll have to go back to spinning wire nuts to pay for Catholic high school, cars, college, and weddings here in the near future. Other then that I'm done working and in my mid 40s. I can't wait to have the boss lady retire so we can hit the road. What I want to say is when the bride and I are going camping and ATV'ing together we aren't looking to do all that much either. I just saw Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton, lol Great informative video. Thank you. P.S. Nice hair Pearl, you too Bob. You are a very nice couple. When you were talking about medical insurance, One thing about me being a Canadian, I don't have to put a dime out for my health care and thank god because one bad health issue here in Canada Heart surgery or transplant, knee or hip replacement etc. won't put me in the poor house, plus, with me turning 65 all of my meds are free and clear, no cost at all and I'm a Diabetic and everything from blood checking strips to insulin to needles are all covered, starting next yr when i turn 65 even my dental is 100% covered for everything, even full extractions and new false teeth, but, we do pay for it in taxes, 13% sales tax across the board, even on a McDonald's Hamburger or a chocolate bar but a major surgery won't cause me lose my home or anything else that I own. When I was younger, I used to complain about the rate of taxes, but as you get older, you realize what these extra taxes are paying for you today.
@davervatx88144 жыл бұрын
In the US, once you hit 65 years old there are federal programs (medicare and medicaid) that significantly reduce health care costs. The thing about "free" health care is that it's never free...you touched on how Canada pays for it - Draconian taxes. In the US, we prefer to buy health insurance and keep our taxes low (well, most of us do anyway), which in turn stimulates our economy, which in turn provides jobs and prosperity. The other thing I've heard from many, many Canadian and British friends who have state-run health care is that it often takes months and months to get an appointment for any type of surgery or procedure. That would be unacceptable to me, especially if I'm retired and on the road in an RV. I think free markets, insurance and competition are the keys to a quality and easily accessible health care system, but to each his own.

I was listening and thought of what David from Outside Our Bubble tells people. He says, "We don't camp, we RV." Some retirees will do camp hosting, but that's not for us. I retired at 62. I did the math and realized, to make up the difference in money I'd receive between 62 and 70, I would have to live to be 96.
@JustPassingThru5 жыл бұрын
Hi Roy, I guess it really doesn't matter now if you have already filed, but normally if you do the math, you will break even with total SS Benefits collected by the time your 85 or usually sooner and if you are healthy and lucky, I read that most folks that reach 65 will live well beyond the 85 mark not to mention the Huge Increase in Survivor benefits for the surviving partner once one of the couple passes away. We all do it our own way, but this is such an important topic for folks, I really don't feel comfortable in not letting folks that are Panning for their retirement (especially if they are in good health) aware of the big financial benefit of delaying the filing for SS Benefits as long as possible for the Higher Wage Earner in a couples financial situation. It is a big financial advantage that many folks make a big mistake with simply from listening to folks that haven't done the math or think SS is going broke or other misinformation.

I very much appreciate your perspective on full timing from the way you like to travel. Most of the YT travel vids I watch are younger folks with small rigs and modest means, but it is refreshing seeing folks like you who enjoy larger rigs/comfort and have the money to spend. I'm sort of in the middle. I simply don't want to deal with the cost and maintenance of a large rig so I have a small travel trailer and enjoy part timing in state parks and small campgrounds and I will never sell my home nest to travel full time. Different strokes for different folks...but it's always fun to see how other people like to travel both part and full time. Thank you both for your effort in sharing how you are enjoying your lives in your Golden Years. :-)

You guys have a very nice lifestyle and I think we will do very well on our 3000 a month with the boondocking we plan to do . While we will be spending a few days in parks from time to time, it will be Thousand Trails and boondocking for us.

Bob, we really enjoy watching your videos and the wealth of information that you guys share. I’ll be retiring at the end of this year. Been part time RVing for 15 years and planning on full time. Would appreciate a copy of your spreadsheet if possible. Keep it rolling !! Don

Another helpful video and you are both looking great! I think you two just took your channel up a notch. I really hope people thinking about living this lifestyle find you because you really pulled all the hot-button issues together. Pat and I are still trying to figure out our style and hope to learn a lot more about ourselves the next several months by trying some boondocking. Still planning to catch up with you in Arizona. Safe travels!

We always love reading your comments as they are so positive and inspirational (Thanks). We are real anxious to hear how your boondocking goes, we are on the fence with the whole solar thing but I am sure we will go to the desert for a week or so several times boondocking with Jeff and Laurie and with you two but we may just have to run the generator a bit each day. We have done it for a week or more a couple of times in Quartzsite in years past and 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the evening works just fine. Winter will be here way too soon enough I am guessing, so we better get ready for it.

Hey guys I love all this info you are giving us! I’m 41 my my wife is 39 and we are planning on going full time, we would love to go now but it’s hard for me to justify leaving my job when in 9 more yrs I’ll be maxed out on my retirement but my wife works from home and could easily work from a motorhome as long as she has internet! Currently we have a 2013 Georgetown class A that is paid for, our home that’s worth about 275k is paid for and we have a Jeep Wrangler as well that’s paid.. at least once a week we talk about selling the home and just doing it now but I really want to get a diesel pusher or a super c for full timing in. The gas class A kills my back and frankly I don’t think it would hold up to full time living. Decisions, decisions.. Florida, Texas or Arizona sure do sound better than Illinois in the winter that’s for sure! Lol

This is a great video as an introduction to your channel. I guess I timed coming on-board just right! I am heading out right now to watch the preparing for retirement (I am holding out three more years to maximize my benefit), so I know I have a lot to learn from "them doin'."
@JustPassingThru5 жыл бұрын
I think that is a very wise idea (Maximizing the SS Benefits) and it sure gives a comfort level as we move along in retirement having the bigger SS Benefit checks. Good Luck with your Plans and Retirement. Thanks for Stopping by the channel again

Good job y’all! Now aren’t you glad you kept on posting those expense reports? Almost up to 10,000 subscribers, you’re celebrities now, congratulations! Hope to see you soon, take care.

Hi Lynn, you are right, it appears folks still relate to the monthly expense reports and it looks like we will keep them up for a while longer. Look forward to seeing you and Don next week in Chehalis (if I remember right). Hope all is going well with your travels.

Great video. I’m just turning 70 in November but have been retired since I was 62. We do about a month a year but want to do more. Problem is we have to much stuff!!! A main house, a small lake condo, and a small hobby farm raising Shiitake mushrooms and blueberries. Those are both seasonal. Please send me your spreadsheets.

Yes we have 4 kids and 14 grand-kids but they are all grown up. We travel around the country and get to visit all our kids, grand-kids, cousins, nieces/nephews so it is much better for us than staying home and hoping they come visit us.
