Can we take a moment to appreciate the sounds starting at 15:50? I’ve never seen pilots run engines up individually. Truly the best part of this fantastic video.

Wow really? At every airline I’ve ever flown at and how i was trained at general flight school. we always start up one at a time for safety reasons. I was unaware that anyone did otherwise. I know some airlines have the pilots only run one engine during taxi, but never start both up at the same time. I don’t think the starters will even run at the same time but i’ve never tried.

clickbait button I meant for the takeoff roll. I agree that I’ve never seen any aircraft with at least two engines start them up at the same time.

Stupid Jagoff Lmao should have checked the time stamp 😅 Yes that is a common procedure that we do when one of the engines is reporting weird readings or is not maintaining the same power level as the other.

I recently flew STL to ATL in a B717 which basically an MD-95 with 2-2 1st Class & 3-2 Main cabin. Though no fault of the aircraft, it was bumpy ride and the pilot maneuvered up and down a few thousand feet to avoid the turbulence which is "less than desirable". I was last in PIT in the early 90's when it was a USAir hub. The place is a ghost town today.

Found it amusing,in the beginning, that somebody of your generation, somebody who knows how to use a smartphone, used a landline to make a call! Had a good laugh as Backpack Guy was taking safety cards as you walked down the aisle in ATL! Very proactive and fan-friendly for DL to offer a ramp tour,to be able to hear and smell the -88's environment! Did you return to PIT the same day?

I wouldn't even say Spirit Airlines is safe at all. We went to Florida at the beginning of July, and they were more serious about us walking down the isles and social distancing than sitting right next to a stranger. Every single row on the a321 was FULL. And spirit didn't even care. But this was on the flight coming home from Fort Lauderdale to Pittsburgh. Going to Fort Lauderdale was a little bit less empty.

Atomizer rings dumping hundreds of pounds of fuel into those Pratts on throttle up ( I build engine components). Then they throttle down to a gentle trickle of fuel. Lot of advancements in engine technology the last few years. At 26 years old those air frames are getting tired. Lots of take off and landing and pressurizing cycles take their toll. They are still a safe aircraft just a little tired. Your shot of lake Lanier was cool. My daughter lives in Gainsville Ga. Good ol Six Flags right off Interstate 20. Flaps down need just a little more lift so we don't fall. Spoilers up now we gotta stop this thing...
