Awesome first video for Travel School! I hadn't considered using Monday for organizing trips and expenses. I have used a similar product called Asana for work. What is great about Monday is you can organize it however you want that makes sense to you. A year ago we did a 10-day trip to Hawaii and visited 3 different islands. We managed everything in a Google Doc, but found it wasn't the best. THIS makes so much more sense and takes the worry out of staying organized during a trip. Thank you for sharing! One more thing, explore the other column options and continue to explore the possibilities. We use the checkmark column to note whether a hotel has a breakfast and we create a status column to make notes about visa requirements. You can also create a links column to add a blog link. So, there are many great options to expand the boards. You can see our board at the beginning of the video. Bev

In all my years of travel, I have always been 'the organiser' and more importantly 'the holder of our travel information' - now my darling husband will be able to be involved in this (or more importantly have no excuse to not to do his share and/or leave everything up to me). This is hilarious to me because just this morning my "darling husband" asked me about our train tickets to Agra. He asked me a question as if I was hoarding these tickets from him. My answer is, like every other instance of this, "It's on Monday!" My "darling husband" proclaims, "Oh, I forget you put EVERYTHING on there!" Even with a complete video made about the subject, he still "forgets" and leaves it to me to retrieve. I'm trying to break him of this; the outcome is still to be determined!!! 🤣😂 The truth is, he helps me plan, so I can't imagine why he "forgets"!!! 😂 Bev!!! ❤️

Look s like an amazing system, will definitely look into it. But as a solo traveller, my first concern is what if my phone isn't working (eg out of power, broken, stolen) and I'm standing at the immigration desk with no access to my documents? I take a tablet but it will be in my checked bag or back at my hotel if I'm out. This is why I carry around so many paper backups, paranoia.

@wannaknit, I agree about back up paperwork . We use a spreadsheet for planning purpose mainly for tracking expenses. Our detailed itinerary that create is for reference on our travels as well as leaving behind for our daughter and house sitter is separate from our plan. We will definitely look into your method. Could you please, please do a follow-up video on this but showing one of your (complicated) completed trips with all the parts? I’m still not sure how to set up the 2-3 flights to get to the first city, hotel, cruise, excursions, next hotel, next 2-3 flights to get home etc. I’m a very visual person, so this is very appealing, but for me the example was too simple. I’d love to see the finished set-up. Thanks!

Hi John and Bev, many thanks for this video, great topic. Just one thought for you, you are able to add a sub topic below every line in your board, eg Travel Details. This can be configured with different columns to the line it sits under, it also has its own notes section. I find this invaluable for planning and detailing side trips, excursions and activities on a per location basis. Paul

I think you might be using an Insta360 camera, but I’d love to know which software you use to edit your videos.
