Bravo! What a find! Also amazing knowing others struggle as I do with the strap toss over the Yak game that I fail at every time. I’m sure someone has recorded me doing this and I’m a KZbin short I’m unaware of.

Hey Low, I just bought a 2022 Outback Wilderness. I have the sister kayak to Wendells and it actually fits almost completely INSIDE the car. Slayer Max 10 is far too heavy to try getting on the roof. Drop the rear seats, lower passenger seat flat and it slides right in. Two quick straps and a strap for the hatch and done. I keep EVERYTHING in the kayak so no constant loading and unloading. I'm going to do a video on it soon. Happy fishing buddy!

Would these be easy to use solo with a kevlar canoe on roof of a car? With the retractable end with a hook - if I threw that over I can see it denting or scratching the side door of my car. Maybe these wouldn’t be a good option for that use case?

What the heck are you doing that your straps wear through or break?! I have cam straps I have had for 10 years and they are still fine. I had one cut rubbing on a hard plastic taco style paddle holder, but otherwise I still have every cam strap I ever bought, or that ever came with something. I have noticed that those that came with paddle specific products are thicker and stronger than the generic one's from Lowes or Home Depot. For example I have 4 that came with foam rooftop kits and 2 that came with a Malone J cradle. Some years ago I discovered rope locks for the the bow and stern lines so I use those instead of the straps with hooks. No problems with them coming loose though. But I do tie a lot of nots to take up the overhanging line. I note that you only ratchet 2 times. that's good. Ratchet straps generally aren't recommended for kayakers because a lot fo people will over tighten and crush their kayak or their vehicle roof.

Ratchet straps are not recommended for binding down kayaks. That’s most likely due to user error of over-tightening. However, if used correctly they have proven to be an excellent time saver when securing the kayak to a trailer provided that the user checks them after some time on the road.
@wendellfishing

Hello buddy how you doing. Man I really really like these ratchet straps I need to get me a couple of set of those. I love how they retract back inside by itself & not create a knot. Those are awesome man I really need to invest in those. I am using cam buckles right now to tie down my kayak and I really haven't had a problem with them in the past years I've been using them. They have worked very very well for me. I have not had them to come loose on me in rain or in the sun. Man where did you get those at? P.S. buddy I have a question about your sandals? I know you told me they were Chaco sandals that you have. I call chaco sandal & they said they do make them in wide widths. They said they can make custom make a size 15 for me they just need the measurements of how wide my foot is. I told them that it was 6 1/2 inches wide but they said they actually need the footprint of my foot to measure out for the footbed. I told them that I had a very very big toe that almost 2" inches wide and that when i try the sandals on I could not get my big toe to fit through the toe loop. They said my big toe should fit through the toes loop with no problem even with my big toe being 2" inches wide. My question is I have heard of the big toe loop is tightening down on the big toe while you wearing the sandals. Have you had this problem with your pair of sandals? Chaco is telling me that it's best for me to get the toe loop one if I'm kayaking and wearing them in the water. As much money I'm going to pay to have them custom made I don't want to pay that much money and they don't fit my wide foot & they wouldn't be able to take them back because they are custom made sandals. I saw how your toes are almost equally straight across like mine are. That's awesome buddy I didn't know your toes were like that. It's a good thing that your foot is not extremely wide like mine but I really really do like those Chacos sandals and I'm trying to get me a pair but chocolate said they waiting on supplies to come in and they was going to contact me to let me know when I can order my pair. I'm just worried about the big toe loop tightening down on my big toe. I really would appreciate your help again if you don't mind. I hope you and your family have a good weekend. I'm supposed to go kayaking this weekend but we are getting several thunderstorms right now and I don't know what the river going to look like tomorrow but I hope we can get on the water tomorrow and have some fun because my sons are begging to go kayaking tomorrow.

Hey Mack, I haven't had any issues with my toe loop tightening down. I don't think it will be a problem once you dial them in. But then again... I don't have your feet so we will never know unless you try I guess.
@mackjenkins7721
@mackjenkins7721 2 жыл бұрын
@@wendellfishing that is good news to hear that you haven't had any issues with your toe loop man. Yes I am glad that you do not have my feet. It is very very difficult having extremely wide feet with chubby fat wide toes that are equally straight across. I never thought that my foot would grow to be 6 1/2 inches wide. I'm trying to debate on what I need to do. My wife is saying don't go with the toe loop because of my big toe being so fat but chaco is saying it's best to have the toe loop. My foot doctor said I need to get a pair of sandals for kayaking & stop walking Barefooted 👣 in the river because my foot is starting to have problems from when both of my feet got broken in the bad truck 🚛accident I was involved in. I really really do appreciate you letting me know you're not having any issues with your toe loop. Thank you buddy.
