I lost 90lbs the last year and now that I've achieved that goal I'm feeling a little lost reprograming my brain to the next chapter. "Now what?" I thought I would just be cured once I arrived at my goal weight. This video really helped me ---- "my why" has changed since I started. I just realized I need to find a new "why" and that inspired me. Thank you for the clarity and your leadership Jillian!

Thank you for motivation I’ll be 72 this month. I’ve led an active lifestyle. This past year not going to the gym and getting two total hip replacements set me back. Im now pain free and ready to be better than ever 2021👍👍 Thank you!!!!!!🥰

I listen to these vids when I work out! It’s like you’re right there with me, pushing me to be my best and work out ‘just a little longer.’ I’ve battled RA almost all of my 52 years. I have arthritis, it doesn’t have me!! This continues to be the big WHY for me because it affects every aspect of my life. Sometimes my why is as simple as to be able to walk downstairs that day. Those days are far and few between now, but you get it. And that happens when I kick my own ass. I have the worst personality for being sedentary! I’ll lay in bed when I’m dead!🤣 So, thanks for the inspiration to help reinforce my motivation!! You’re the best!!!

Until bad health forces you to make a change, I don't think anyone can get motivated enough. And even for some people, bad health is not enough of a motivator. But the one thing that is true, nothing changes until you really want it to.

My whys: to be healthy for my niece, and her children and her children's children, to eventually wear a two-piece, to never gain weight again and feel and look the way I did (4-6 years ago...very unhealthy). (Thank you Jillian! You helped me lose the weight years ago, I've been working out to your videos and still healthy and strong!!!!

My why was when I used to say, “ I’m fed up of being “fed up!” Fed up of yo-yoing with my weight loss! Now, 13 weeks in and I’m now longer fed up because I kicked my own arse and now feel great to share that I’m doing great with my weight loss journey to a much healthier lifestyle and happiness within me for ME! Been through that. I felt like he left because I wasn’t enough. Truth is they are usually not happy with themselves. You do it for you because YOU are worth it, no matter what he does. Live your life for you. Sending prayers your way. I’m 3 years on the other side of it and a better and stronger person. You will be, too. Hang in there.

Been there. What a blessing he is no longer in my life. Took time...... be gentle and kind to yourself. I’m so happy now with a man that loves and encourages me. I needed to be happy alone and fulfilled by myself before I attracted someone of quality. 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Loved the line “ passion is motivation” For me motivation is, seeing myself able to do all outdoor athletic thing with my kid, look fit and fabulous at any age, love the way my body feels ( as if it thanks me for the work outs!!) and last one don’t want to feel otherwise ( other than FIT)!!

I just turned 73. One day, in my 50s, I looked out a restaurant window while waiting for my order. An elderly, trim man, I'd say at least 80 years old, rode past on his bicycle. I said, "I want to be like him. I want to be able to do that." I want to be trim and active and not have to sit in doctors' offices. I really have kept the image of him in my head. I now have a friend who is 96, and I told her, "I want to grow up to be like you." :)

I just took you along for a walk. It is dark, cold, snowy, and 21 degrees. And after being on program for 12 weeks, I’m ready for this new week of challenges. I hear you telling me to move more. I believe that to be my biggest challenge. So, I will do that. I want to walk...and then I want to run. And, I know it won’t happen overnight. I must be patient and consistent. I want to be a healthy mom for my two beautiful and amazing teenagers. I want to live a healthy life.

My whys: I love that at 65 I can play physical games with my grandchildren, get done on the floor with ease, get on the equipment at the playground and more… I also love to feel good in my clothes, flexible in my body and feel healthy and youthful.

My why: To be able to explore the Miter Basin in King's Canyon and the Nine Lakes Basin near Mineral King. Also, Jillian, thank you so much for creating your Yoga Meltdown DVD. I bought two of these DVD's. I gave the second DVD to my sister who really likes your yoga workout too! (I supplement your yoga workout with an additional 15 minutes of isometrics using a forearm forklift strap.)

I find motivation comes from WANTING to be healthy, not to look a certain way or be seen in a certain light by others. I had a small health scare that made me change my mindset quick smart, and it finally clicked for me. Everyone needs the "aha!" moment that makes them realise that the effort is worth it. Jillian is right - It's not easy and you have to consistently make good choices most of the time. You really do have to put in the hard yards and keep deciding to put your health first. I often remind myself of how disgusting I feel after eating super high calorie foods/fried foods/junk foods (low energy, aching stomach, digestive issues), and it puts me off eating terribly 99% of the time. Whenever I have thoughts about binging or eating huge amounts of food, I have a glass of water, I go for a walk, I distract myself with other healthy activities and mindsets. You have to train your brain!

Awesome video!!! As a personal trainer and health coach myself I try to have clients find their why and sometimes it is hard. People try to make everyone else happy instead of finding their why for themselves. I’ve watched you since you were on the biggest loser! Love your videos and information you share!!

Today is “leg day”. I really needed to reach for my “why”. I know I do this for myself to be happy and present. There’s nothing more present than “leg day” and I shouldn’t be any less present for my family. Sweating out the noise so I can settle in to my skin and enjoy being present in my heart.

My why: I don't ever want to have to take meds for acks and pains when getting older. I don't want to be that person that cannot bend to get something. I don't want to be that person that has hormone issue. God willing I want to see my kids have kids a d their kids have kids. I want to be active and stronger at an older age. I don't want to look my age (i have my mom's genes). I want to continue to be in kids live as they continue a new chapter in their life. ❤️

I have had my gall bladder, appendix, 3 back surgeries, fibroid surgery, hysterectomy, cancer, congestive heart failure due to a chemo drug from my cancer all before the age of 40. I'm 45 now I feel I haven't really got to live!

I find when I eat well , my anxieties are calmer. When I take turmeric drops my inflammation which causes water retention goes down and I can see my knees again. Also my joints feel better which allows me to exercise or just have a chore day without feeling exhausted. I found having consistent day shifts was allowing me to have my rest time. And hormones back in check. The why real reason in my opinion is a bit different for male and female. Female is so that if we want to start a family or adopt we have strength to raise a family or strength for a good career. To name a few. Health is also important role for mental health and help us choose a good balance in our lives. By choosing right kind of foods I have the ability to think clear and not stressed and cloudy or muddy head. So the Males health wise who wouldn’t want to flex a bicep. Why not join a sports team. It’s also a way to social and decompress. I remember a customer said to me during this pandemic hockey must go on. Hockey to that man was important to him mentally. I’m honoured in a way to have met this guy cause it made me reflect how important a hobby or sport really is. I hope other people will share their Why’s. 😁

This was a good one Jillie and it's something I needed to hear. We all struggle with this at one point or another but I have been more than usual. Life after experiencing a major event like my Mom getting sick and waiting for the call that she has passed and then getting that call. I mean that event knocked the wind from my sails and now I struggle with getting the motivation that I once had or even finding a new one. Well, not to go on and on you gave me a place to start at least. Do more of these types of videos I mean you are a daughter of a psychologist, Right? LOL

I have three reasons why. 1. To not feel shame or embarrassment when in public. 2. When I was a kid I was in shape. I had family members who were jealous and shamed me for being thin. The more I gained weight, the less they made fun of me and accepted me. Being in shape now is revenge for the mental and health hell that put me through in my adult years. 3. I found the person I want to spend the rest of my life with, and I want to live those years with him, not just survive them.

My why: When I was 5 my father died of heart disease at only 33 years old, leaving my mom to struggle raising 3 kids by herself. I am going to put everything I have into keeping my body healthy to be around for my future children and to help generations after myself thrive.

1st I am new to your channel. 2nd I love your Straight Talk no BS way of presenting things. It might not be for everybody but it's definitely hitting home from me so I am enjoying your content. You ask for request of what we would like to hear from on you and you've already made videos on many things I am interested in, so thank you for that. I would like to know in your experience in health and fitness through many years what role you feel hormone imbalances play in someone tackling weight loss and fitness. How imperative do you think it is to go to an endocrinologist if you feel that you definitely are predisposed to weight gain due to hormonal imbalances even when labs like TSH come back in normal ranges. Give it to me straight. Do you just have to do the work in put in the extra effort even if your body is resistant to fitness knowing the end result will still be good? That's what my age and wisdom tells me. 😊

I want to exercise but I wake up in pain everyday herniated disc pain in my butt down my left leg! I have had 3 different back surgeries. The only way I feel ok n be motivated is by taking pain medication 💊 I don't want to but it's all I can do. I know u would help me if u could. I like to watch u n think wow I wish I could look n feel like her!

My why's are to look and feel better about myself, not be out of breath when I'm active, If I love myself more I can love my husband even better, to get off my blood pressure meds. Hopefully reverse some medical conditions. Fulfill God's plan for my life what ever that may look like.

Are you in my head Jillian? I just lost my sister May 9th 2020 to Pancreatic Cancer. I am finishing Body Shred in 2 weeks and think of her and how she wasn't able to walk 2 steps so I am continuing to workout in her honor. I felt guilty for branching away from virtual yoga even though I have 2 more weeks but I loved the studio and really am not into doing it at home.

My why is my daughter. I have completed the 90day body revolution and I’m half way thru the 60day body shred! I am down over 50lbs! And most of all feeling 💪 strong! Jillian, I have a question. When trying to lose weight (about 20-25lbs) can we be in too great of a calorie deficit? Currently I am very active so I eat between 1600-2200 calories per day and burn between 2600-3400 per day. So on a day on a day where I eat 1600 and burn 3400 (also taking into consideration the thermogenic effect of digesting food), I might have a deficit of up to 1800 calories.. Is that too much? If so, what are the negative effects of being in too much of a deficit for an extended period?
