0:17 My mate Stn O Eric Winterbotham Green Watch, Stretford. 2nd clip. Fond memories of what was C36 Bury. Spent my strike on the picket line there in 1977/78. 3:48 Spent over two years at Philips Park 1973/75. Salford...did a few detached duties there as OIC.

Andy Daley, correct me if I'm wrong but Dennis' were with GMFRS from 1973 to 1998

GMC had the first Dennis RS back in the 70s, after that they had some in the 1980s, but after that they had a batch of Dennis DFS pumps which the crews adored, that was around 1993/1994.

Volvos have been with GMFRS for over decade. Don't judge. Dennis was with GMFRS from 1973 to 1998.

+John Johnstone I disagree Volvos have been popular all over the uk for the past 2 decades. Ok I'll admit Dennis is a fire vehicle company but they went bust decades ago. Cumbria, Greater Manchester, West and North Yorkshire, Suffolk, Sussex, Strathclyde, Central Scotland, North and South Wales all have Volvos in their stations.

They buy them because they are cheap that is the only reason they are nothing but bloody trouble and more of a worry the newer ones are worse, North Yorks got 4 one year in a batch and one day, well for 3 days in total, 3 out of the 4 were off the run with defects, made cheap built cheap and not up to the job, but brigades love them because they are cheap. Dennis only stopped producing fire engines in 2006 or early 2007.

Lancashire FRS have just bought a brand new ALP made by Rosenbauer that is a Volvo FL. Listen, Dennis trucks are like tanks but Volvos are faster, ok sure they go wrong sometimes but the reason why everyone goes with Volvo is because they are sturdy and reliable.
