I'm always a little afraid to buy shoes online, so my number one go to when I want some vintage style shoes are old lady's sections in stores. There are many awesome shoes in those sections and they are all super comfortable!

For those of us with foot conditions and disability the choices are slim...but Clarks fits an orthotic and makes a maryjane in every color, and if you can tolerate dansco they have a higher heeled black mary jane that I am able to wear for a few hours while in rockabilly/retro styles.

Clarks often have retro-ey type shoes, and they're made really well and have consistent sizing. i adore every pair of mine.

Thanks for this! I do have foot problems and also wide feet. I found that Clarks do have a lot of styles that look comfortable and also fit the aesthetic, even if they're not true reproduction. About to get a pair soon myself.

Dreampairs has a few great options, I have arthritis in my knee and their options are all orthopedic and lovely . Very comfy

One of my favorite pairs of shoes is actually a Payless purchase. They are a grey and black "saddle shoe" style, t-strap heel. The brand is Dexflex Comfort (yeah, they're designed to be comfy and support your arches). I don't know if they still make the style I own, but they regularly come out with various retro style shoes in the ballpark of $25.

I have 5 pairs of Remix. I love that they will send a rep to bigger swing dance events and will let you dance one song in a pair to make sure they feel good, before you buy.

I really enjoyed this, though I personally cannot wear shoes like this because I’m disabled so I cannot wear heels, it was so interesting and definitely gave me some ideas for if I’m going to look for shoes in the future. I wear ballet pumps a lot I can get them cheaply and in lots of colours though they are not too vintage looking they can pass. I do wish stores would do cute flat versions of heels that would be the dream x

Thank you! Bait footwear do a lot of vintage inspired flat styles, and I know Royal Vintage have done some flatter saddle shoe styles recently! Shoes similar to our modern ballet flats were certainly worn by vintage gals don't worry! Check out this image ( www.pinterest.com/pin/361625045071825096/ ). Also, I believe rocket originals have stable flat soled shoes too!

I am disabled and use a wheelchair. I also mostly wear ballet pumps, I have them in lots of colours. But I still wear heels as I don't walk anywhere, they just look so pretty and feminine. Regards Rowena 🇬🇧

I have two pairs of Rocket Originals. They come up a little small in general, but gosh they are like wearing slippers! One in leather which took one wear to break in, the suede however were like slippers from the off! and this is from someone who cannot wear heels and is a big klutz lol. Id wear them all the time if work allowed me. I dream of owning Re-mix though. One day Ill treat myself!

You should check out saint savoy shoes. I am a swing dancer and I just bought a pair from them they have such cute vintage swing shoes. I personally like them more than re-mix

I’ve found some cute vintage-plausible heeled oxfords through Cobb Hill/New Balance. I wear them to most of my vintage cycling events. They’re incredibly comfortable. I spent big money on Miss-L-Fire and find them virtually unwearable.

I was hoping that royal vintage had some that were flats I don’t do well with heels since I have problems with my knees but I am one that wants to get shoes that are made out of natural materials instead of rubber or plastic which do not let your feet breathe do you know if they carry flats?

Shoes are a real problem for me - I am both disabled (and can't wear heels) and have a foot condition. Plus, I'm about 6' tall, and because of all these things, I wear a size 12 wide. Cheap shoes are out of the question, so every pair I buy is an investment.

Honestly everything in this video is still the same/true now. I stand by Remix and Royal Vintage as my favorites! I think Royal Vintage run quite true to size and if they ever have not they have included that in their information (there was a run of one of their styles once that came out a little big and they were very open about this). As for Remix, I have found their sizing a bit harder, as most of the time I get my size (10) but did have to go down in my Garnets (heeled sandals) to a 9 1/2, which luckily I bought those in store and was able to try them on.
