Man, there were so many good ones but I loved Steve Balmer. That guy just goes, pun intended, balls to the walls. Saw one of his rants where he was so sweaty the comment section wondered why he didn't die of desiccation. But he does leave it all out there.

Yeah he does go a little crazy. I remember seeing that commercial in the 80's and thinking he must have worked at a used car dealership. 🤣🤣

Omg this was amazing. These commercials were crazy. I didn't see a computer till my stepdad bought one in like 2000 or 2001, I was still using a typewriter for my papers for school. I also wasn't allowed to use the computer because it wasn't mine. Lol.

Glad you enjoyed it. 👍I remember using a typewriter in elementary school before we got the C64. Too bad you couldn't use your stepdads. My parents were all about me learning how to use a computer, because "computers were the future". Boy they hit the nail on the head with that one, everything is computerized now.

Right!! I think the only thing he did before this was in the movie Night Shift, he was one of the frat dudes, but I could be wrong.

Classic! Let's see.. what was I looking for in a 1983 home computer? 🤔 Why, to be able to hack into NORAD, so that I could play Global Thermonuclear War.. of course. Wasn't everyone!?!

Right. The Coleco Adam commercial played right into the wargames vibe. And when Lori Loughlin keeps asking if it's legal cracks me up.

Yeah, but can it run Doom 😂. (Nice to see the crew from mash) some of the prices & when you factor in inflation computers of old were not for every household. First computer in my home was a 2nd hand rubber key ZX-Spectrum.

Well technically speaking, the Amiga could run ports of Doom. But had to be upgraded to run them. 👍 The Apple Lisa, I think, was the most expensive computer shown here. $9,995 in 1983, that's like $30,000 these days. And that was just a bare bones Lisa, if you wanted more ram, the HDD, etc.. you had to pony up more money. But very true, nobody I knew back then would have been able to afford one of the pricier computers. I started with a C64 that my parents bought second hand from a pawn shop. But it came with the C64, 13" Panasonic color TV, the 1541 disk drive and a Datasette, all for $150. What a deal they made!! Try getting all that for that price these days, let alone back then. 🤣🤣

Yep, KZbin has been doing it to everyone it seems. Unlike most KZbinrs, I don't do this for the money, but for people to watch, enjoy, and maybe learn something about these old systems. Been looking for another platform to host my vids because of this. My views are down more than 50%.The reason I went to just 1 video a week. Been like this for a couple months now. Not too impressed with YTs change to the algorithm along with a lot of other KZbinrs. Some bigger YTers have already left. The signs are there, might have to exit stage left to another platform that promotes its creators content, instead of being money hungry. In honesty KZbin died years ago with the Google takeover.

@@RetrogamerGenXThere's a platform out there that sounds cool. It's being bankrolled by the KZbinr "LegalEagle". You can pay monthly to see content there or users can pay a lifetime $300 lump sum for eternal access. I might do that if enough good KZbinrs jump ship there. I'll try to find the name.
