It was my first car! I absolutely adored it! 1.0 model, 45 hp. Insanely reliable, dependable! The things I have done with this car!!! Accidentally on 2 wheels in a roundabout (driver tires one meter of the ground, didn't crash), handbrake fun in a ski station (ran into a snow wall, the exhaust fell off, had one meter flammes shooting out!). Took 500kgs of scrap metal to the junkyard...rear wheels were rubbing, so was the exhaust. Broke the gear box and replaced it with a 5 speed (good swap). Funny thing: it was previously owned by the local police, it still had traces of the decals and a plug in the hole on the roof where the flashing light was... The stories I have in that thing...it goes on... I'd love to find it, whatever state it's in...

nice to see more of my generation have a passion for retro cars over the boring modern day car. Glad he said it... classic cars are different and often have unique quirks

I knew a guy who had SEVEN of these cars, he swapped parts and engines like crazy. He pranged one of his daily drivers, the insurance company wrote it off for £1200, he bought it back as salvage, found a replacement wing for a tenner and had it back on the road with over a grand in his pocket.

Had one of these, yep hes right, these cars are so individual as is their driving capabilities, no two are the same. Always admired them and now I really really want one i cant find one? (or afford a good one)

The reason the washer bottle so big is it’s got headlight washers

The wash bottle is so big because its for the screen AND lights. Polo without the thing for the lights have a bottle of 4,5 L or so. Sorry for my bad english.

Ahh man, I had the mk2 polo breadvan (L reg). I regret selling it, it had rotted through in the drivers side footwell. Should have got it welded up 😕. Had no other problems

I always wanted one of these, my mate had one 15 years ago when he passed his test. Modern cars just seem so, well, fat.

@@Georgegerrard_ yeah it's a project car with no engine or gearbox, missing front brakes and custom pained wheels. Bodywork in decent not great condition. A good Polo will set you back at least £3,000. My first ever car was a Ford Fiesta mk3 (4 speed gearbox with manual choke) that cost me £50, it's amazing how rare they are these days. Guess I'm getting old.. I remember driving my instructors brand new Fiesta MK6 thinking I'd never be able to afford such a car; last year I picked one up for a grand. The MK3 was just more fun to drive. Edit OK I see you have one in your videos how much did you pay for that?
