Vinyl retrofit window installation using flush exterior fin window.
Old aluminum window removed, new vinyl window slipped into the opening and correctly installed.

These guys know their stuff. I’ve installed windows for 20 years and I basically install the same way except I spay foam around the windows before I apply the inside trim.

Nice job, but a retrofit window can be installed over the stucco, you don't need to remove the existing aluminum frame ,,, unless is bulky,,, thats why is a retrofitted window,,,,,

What kind of blade was on the saw at the 5:15 mark when you trimmed the fin?

Was it necessary to cut the stucco and cut the window fin ?

issue fruter I believe not, it was a retrofit which can sit on top of the stucco, just needs to trim the sides of the vinyl fins where the stucco side walls are so it fits do the rest the same, or trim back stucco more and put in a “new construction/nail on window and than do some stucco work

Why is he trimming the frame ? just measure on the inside drywall to drywall , order the windows with those measurements, remove the glass from aluminum frame, caulk, slide the new window in from outside, screw in with 3 inch drywall screws from inside, case closed easy peasy.

Scott Reiboldt Hi Scott, He is trimming the frame due to the wood "plant on" surrounding the opening. He did measure using the size of the old window as his opening, but because of the "plant on" on the exterior the flush fin would not fit inside. Thus the trim. Scott Reiboldt you wrong in many ways. You never remove the aluminum frame. The aluminum frame is a water barrier.

scott, I agree. all in in my opinion are crap. they are made where I live and lack insulative properties. they are not double walled fins. they are expensive. I sell many others for half the price that are way more effective.
