I don't know if it's the old formats or if it's your presentation, but your videos are so much easier for me to follow than the officially broadcast tournaments

Yes indeed, also the music is a great extra and he's a great announcer. If you play a psychic deck, always annoyingly if you stand against a strong Wigglytuf appointment!

@@yingmustang67 The older formats are part of it, but I think the editing and formatting of the video play the largest role. Of all the tabletop battles I’ve seen, only Tricky Gym’s are as engaging, but while his battles are whimsical, lighthearted and personal (Highlighted as they are by friendly, casual banter and cartoony attack effects), Holon Phantom’s feel like a more streamlined take on the official formula. I think part of the secret is that the Holon Phantom doesn’t show player’s hands. At first I thought this was a weakness, but I’ve since realized that one of this method’s strengths is that the commentator doesn’t have to conjecture what plays each player might make, allowing for more focused commentary and the purging of “dead space” in the gameplay. Of course, the disadvantage is that we don’t have the fun of conjecturing ourselves. :/ And yes, I love his announcing and the music.

I do my best haha honestly, cutting out the "dead space" in each battle takes the longest amount of time in the editing process but I love the end result. it's just quick, non-stop action throughout the video

That was an exciting battle! Jason Klaczynski is hosting a Prop 15/3 tournament on Sunday August 11th and a Base-Fossil tournament on Saturday August 10th in Milwaukee, and I hope to get my Prop 15/3 article published a few weeks before then. The article should give you some inspiration for new Prop 15/3 decks. At the very least I would suggest trying my favorite… it would put your Base Set Zapdos to good use, but the deck is far more fun than the Zapdos/Electrode deck of the Base Set format. (No more hints, though.) I was kind of surprised by the ending. I have definitely decked out in Prop 15/3 before, but very seldomly. I was also concerned by how many Magmar you discarded. Taking 2HKOs with Do the Wave may be fine, but not doing the full 60 damage makes it take one more heads from Stamp to Knock Out the defending Pokémon if it retreats to the bench (For instance, you could have Knocked Out the benched Gengar AND the benched Mr. Mime AND the Lickitung in a single turn if you had a full bench when you attacked said Gengar with Do the Wave).

I'll admit, I could've played this game better towards the end, but we were brain-dead by that point. We had been trying to record a good game of this matchup for about 5 hours (there were a lot of bad videos that I ended up deleting) and I wasn't able to think straight by the end. I'm no longer the competitive player I used to be so playing pokemon for 5 hours is way too much for me nowadays. That being said, I'm glad it was still an enjoyable watch. Looking forward to your article and see what deck you came up with!

@@holon_phantom Yikes. Five hours? I'VE never played Pokémon for five hours! (*Realizes I could end up playing Pokémon for five hours if I somehow make top-cut at this tournament and begins to feel brain-dead just thinking about it*) I hope you and your wife got a good night's sleep after that grueling quest. Glad you're looking forward to my article! It won't disappoint. (I actually wrote "Glad you're looking forward to my water bottle. I told you I felt brain-dead just thinking about this coming tournament run. Oooohhh boy....)
