I'll be buying one. A hit? Globally, the 400/800 didn't sell as many as the C64, but then nothing did. It still sold well in its time (more than Apple ][) and the market share continued into the ST series, so little churn. Enough units should be shifted to make the whole effort worthwhile.

I don't think it will be a hit.Unlike a C64 mini or the A500 mini which represents successful micro computers...I don't know about this but hey I could be wrong.

I think you might be right, the Commodore 64 and Amiga 500 were so popular on their day, but the Atari 400 I'm not sure about. I guess we'll have to wait and see! Thanks for your comment and for watching the video. 👍🏻

These 400/800/800XL computers were the top game machines of their time. The cost kept them from being used in vast numbers like consoles, but if you had one you knew it was in a completely different category.

Here in the US, the Amiga was never a big hit, and it doesn't seem like the A500 has sold well - at least here. From my memory, as a kid who owned a Atari 600XL, I don't recall ever seeing an original 400 or 800, and I honestly wonder how many people will even know what an Atari 400 is, more-less have nostalgia for it. Also I'm not much of a fan of the look - to most people this will appear to be an old cash registrar. But I wish them the best - or at least hope they keep their expectations in check. Now if they made a mini 800XL, now that is a great looking system and would look cool on a shelf.

I tend to agree with you, I also don't think the 400 was a massive seller in the UK or I may be wrong
