This needs to become a series, most of those channels are mostly concerned with the hardware side of things which is cool, but I love getting recommendations for games to try out since I was basically a DOS kid and I don't know many retro games apart from top 10 lists or hidden gem lists. Personal favorites are just a little well more personal.

My hidden gem is 'Record of Lodoss War' on Dreamcast. From my understanding, it strays from the lore of the anime in order to better service what it is, a really good Diablo clone. In fact, the best on any consoles of that generation, if you ask me.

My hidden gem: the 1982 arcade game, "The Pit". It's a single screen precursor to the likes of Boulderdash. Dig down into an alien pit, evade robot bad guys, grab a diamond, and escape through a monster-filled pit before the enemy tank destroys your spaceship! So much character squeezed into such simple graphics!

I have 2 for you, not sure if they're hidden gems but I know I don't see anyone talking about them. 1. SNES - Vortex - This was one of the first SuperFX chip games that came out on the SNES and it a really cool 3D game that has you in a vehicle that can shift into different things like a plane, a robot a car that sort of thing. Graphics look pretty cool for a SNES game and I feel like they were going for the "Open World" idea, but of course couldn't really impliment it. 2. Genesis - Warlock - Though this game is an adoption from a terrible horror flick, I really enjoy the puzzles that requires you solve. I like the well shaded background and the music is a bit eerie. The druid character you play is super versitle and it just a good side scrolling puzzle game. Great work getting everyone together on this!

I recommend that game to people all the time and rarely does anyone take me up on checking it out. I hope this video gets more people to play it. Enjoyed the video. Final Lap Twin is definitely something I'm gonna enjoy as a fan of Lamborgini American Challenge for the SNES, but with betting instead of a set amount to be paid for loosing. I'd say katamari damacy is probably the least hidden gem on the list here. It kinda blew up because of the absurdity in early online stuff at the time. You could roll a ball up and pick up people. It was shocking to people. Very fun game though. Highly suggest.

Great video! Love the camaraderie. One of my retro hidden gems has to be Kwirk on GB. I never owned a GB growing up (I'm and 80's kid) but I had friends and family that had one. I never really played Kwirk until I met my father-in-law (in 2002). He had an OG gameboy and a couple games but he was always playing Kwirk. He showed it to me one day and I got HOOKED. My father-in -law passed away a few years ago and as a gift to my wife, I got her a red GB Pocket with a copy of Kwirk. We play it once in a while and have fun solving the puzzles but most of all we remember my father-in-law while playing it.

Apocalypse was a fun game with Bruce Willis, another like it also on PS1 is the game ONE. The vibration on some guns was pretty nuts, btw anyone playing on Odin 2 when the game starts up in Duckstation it starts as a digital controller like some PS games did so just toggle the analog/digital mode in settings to get the proper twin shooting instead of the face buttons, also you need to enable vibration in Duckstation in the touchscreen settings on Odin.

Great idea and great video, thanks for putting this together. My hidden gem is "It's Mr. Pants" for the GBA which is an amazing puzzle game made by Rare and published by THQ. I feel like i never hear anybody mention it, but it's one of my favorite Tetris-ish puzzle games on any system. It's almost like a reverse Tetris.. you place blocks to clear the board. Good stuff.

Oh man, I remember the share ware Capture the Flag. For a hidden gem, would Alundra for PS1 count? Sprite based action RPG, but a much darker tone than anything Zelda has to offer.

This was so great, looking forward to more chapters. My hidden gems are all the Intellivision games I grew up with. Night Stalker, B-17 Bomber, Star Strike and both D&D games (including a 3D one!) stand out.
