I’ve got a full XTR Klein Adroit that I ended up getting after working on it several times from a friend. Love the old school mountain bikes and can’t wait to finish it up with 95% OEM parts soon.

Next time you do a vid for one of these vintage bike shows, find a bike with XT or XTR V-brakes, (the last and best cantilever brakes), and pull on a brake lever. Note how the cable hooks up to the lever. It is a ball bearing that rolls in a slot. As you pull the lever, the ball bearing (at the end of the cable), is in the slot at the furthest point from the lever pivot point. That is to use up the "throw" at the cantilever brakes before the pads hit the rim. Now after the pads hit the rim, and you keep squeezing the lever, the ball bearing rolls down the slot so the cable end is closer to the lever pivot point for more leverage. It is a simple, yet ingenious design, and they may even be stronger than some disk brakes today. They made all other cantilever brakes obsolete to the point where department store bikes now use the design, (but with out the ball bearing cable end and slot).

That is such a great event! It brings back so many memories riding in the 90's. I started mtb in early 80's on modified road bikes, but the rides that came out in the 90's were just amazing. Thank you so much for you videos, wish we had something like this here in the states!

Good to see some Retro appreciation across the pond! I'm looking forward to the Malverns next year to get my fix, and to go and introduce my JMC replica to the real deal. Keep it up guys!

@@nigehill Just out of interest, cause had an interesting chat with someone i bought some retro stuff from the States from. Do you guys in Aus know what a JMC Specialized is? To us in the UK It's the bike Jason Mcroy rode in the Mbuk film dirt (Worth a watch on youtube) Not only is JMC the farther of UK downhill. But his hardtail is possibly one of the coolest looking retro classics of all time. Check out JMC Specialized Malverns to see what i'm on about. Also wen it comes to Aussie riding, gew up watching mudcows, and still have the medalian to this day! Love seeing how the community devloped here, the states and in Aus. hope you make it to the Malverns!

@@danpatterson7108 yeah definitely know who JMC is, I’m a massive Peaty and Palmer fan too. For me back then watching Palmer and Chris Kovaric from Aus racing Intense M1 were pretty inspiring for me personally. I also raced a red Intense M1 back in the late 90s. Back then Scott Sharples and Nathan Rennie and Kovaric were our big names but I think Peaty was the biggest name back then for most Aussies.

@@nigehill Oh awesome, after speaking with guy from the states, i kinda figured maybe he's only really locally known to us. Yeah, Peaty and Palmer were huge here too. Was so happy when Peat finally won the world championship. To be honest i only recently in the last 2 years bought a modern 27.5 1x11, and that was only cause i took my old retro rockhopper to a park and was like "i'm gonna snap this here" lol

Marin (sp?) got some help becoming a popular brand in the 90's because for I believe several years, it was the bicycle hanging up on the set of Jerry Sienfied's New York apartment of the popular TV 90's sit-com. I remember that because my boss at Nuke proof could not get them to hang one of his bikes up there. :)

After about 3 years the last Keurig stopped working kzbin.infoUgkxBrV-RbF5Nk0Rlt9i15aao-YMzqzTG8Vf initially was able to unblock, however eventually we couldn't fix. That one was a replacement unit sent by the manufacturer after we had problems with our very first Keurig. This works fine (lol, at least for now) however I didn't realize the water reservoir was so much smaller than our prior unit. With 2 people having one or two cups of coffee each morning, it seems like I'm refilling it daily. Otherwise just happy to have the convenience of pod coffee vs. making a morning pot.

I don't want to swap my mint condition and most complete Ti. frame 1994 Nuke Proof pro level racing Mt. Bike (of the time). But I am thinking of selling it to somebody who was not too hippy and made some money. The hippy Mt. Bike museums in CA. USA can't pay you anything for the historical production,---so they are not getting it. :) It cost about $3,000 to build in 1994, and is in mint condition, (sans the new Duke forks that went flat from 2 decades of storage.).

Love the show, such a cool idea! Those bikes from that era display the diversity of technology and opinion that was going on in the 90s. In some ways similar to what had occurred during the 1970s with the motocross industry when suspension designs were changing the sport. Great to see those examples all together again. I wish I still had my 1995 Girvin, Proflex 855 to show off.

Nicely done just one thing i think i must be old i remember selling alot of these back then ha ha i aggree gt was it surpized no zaskar le on show . Funny to see these old bikes with flat pedals in vic i didnt know a single rider to run flats ? I think the rts was the best all round useable bike that actually worked with no dumb things except it needed a pair of z1 bombers up front . ¤✌👍😁

With a 29 or 700 wheel you run more from 35 km/h, and if you have a climb on those, you won't reach 35 km/h, that is, a 29 wheel will weigh you down much more even on the flat .

I think we are going to get worse with 29er wheels and that is why they have stopped manufacturing bikes with 26er wheels, the companies are not interested in us knowing the truth .
