I am 39 years old. I came across your channel one day, and I love your content you post about old TV shows from the 50's, 60s, and 70s. I collected the TV ending themes. I remembered some of those shows Nick at Nite would show after Nickelodeon's programming. Since discovering your channel, I collect DVDs of old shows.

Glad to hear it, Tony. Nice to see a "young'un" enjoy the simplicity, wholesomeness and quality of '50s to '70s programs. Back then, writers, production crews and performers HAD to be good because there were only three major networks. Imagine watching them as I did before Internet, computers, cable or home recording. The images came and went and we either watched them as they aired (usually with the whole family present) or not at all. Everything seemed more special and precious (even when it wasn't). And commercial breaks were usually just one minute long!

Memories of how great TV Land USED to be. I first saw it in 1997 but didn't have it at home until I got cable back in 2000, mostly to see myself on a TV Land game show. Now I get my classic tv fix from MeTV & FETV.
@FredFlix9 ай бұрын
What does FETV show, Jon? We don't have that here.
@ernestcruz63169 ай бұрын
We don't have FETV in Rhode Island, or MeTV either. We used to have MeTV but not since 2022. They replaced it with something called Charge!, which shows action shows from the 1980s up. We have Grit, which is all Western movies and series, and Antenna TV, which is old shows from the '50s to the '90s.

@@FredFlix Fred, FETV is short for Family Entertainment Television, and it's a cable station, so it's not available off-air. It shows classic tv shows from the 1950s through the 1980s, sitcoms like HAZEL, LEAVE IT TO BEAVER, and BEWITCHED, and dramas like PERRY MASON, RAWHIDE, MANNIX, and just recently QUINCY, M.E. It also shows more recent sitcoms like BARNEY MILLER and until about a year ago MAUDE. It fills some off-hours time with religious programming too.
@FredFlix9 ай бұрын
@@jehobden Wow, I haven't seen Quincy on any nostalgia channel in many years.

I did, Chantelle. At least progress hasn't changed the Thanksgiving feast...except the price of it! I trust you had a good holiday as well.

Great one Fred…the Bronx didn’t get cable until the mid 90 s, now it’s just another bill to watch shows I watched 60 years ago for free…Did you know that William Conrad played Marshal Dillon on the radio version of Gunsmoke , but couldn’t get the TV gig because of his girth?!

Great look back, Fred. Although "this" TV Land is long gone, many if not all these shows can be seen on other networks, with no satellite or cable subscription needed.

True, Robert. But eventually they all morph into something different. Although MeTV is a notable exception.

This is a throwback to the early days of TV Land, circa 1996-2000.but until satellite came along changed dramatically, and TV Land really tops them all. now I get my classic TV fix from Roku and Tubi. TV Land should make a comeback very soon, it's been too long.

I co-piloted a 'ferry flight', under contract to Eastern Air Lines, from Miami, to JFK, in the early 1980's. Chastity Bono, and a caretaker, boarded that very same 727-200 series 'rocketship', two hours later, while I jump seated on an Air Florida 737 for the MIA return flight; they served the best sandwiches in the airline world! Wound up in Key West, with one of their flight attendants, who lost a 'cat fight' with her supervisor, and was ordered to 'sit out the balance of the three-hour flight' on the flight deck. 'Borrowed' my old man's PA-23 from Opa Locka, and, no, "I didn't", btw... She cried for at least one solid hour, the F.O.was ticked-off because of it, chivalry, and the offer to fly to the Key's for dinner at Captain Bob's, made my Amex card hurt. That EAL uniform, with the "three-stripe epaulette upgrade", and a bunch of bulls*** helped in talking her out of quitting. Took her to meet my parents... I was either a jackass, or a boy scout???? Chazz Bono....
