Both were rough and tumble back when they were young, two were left in Florida (lucky find whoever found them), two waterlogged (my fault), 1 literally died through sheer overuse (buttons simply wore out), the other broken (don't ask!). The 4th set were damaged when we moved home but still kind of worked. The last set I found a few weeks back when going through their rooms - still working perfectly. I bought a previously owned backlit screen Game Boy Advance SP (AGS-101) which was the "Pearl Blue" color from a retro video game shop in October 2013 for $70, and it still had everything with it, the box, AC adapter, and all the paperwork (manuels, brochures). I like it. I'm old school Game Boy since the black & white handheld from 1989, but I got out of it heading into the 1990s just sticking with the main video game consoles. I later got back into the Game Boy systems and even got into the Nintendo DS and 3DS handhelds.

My brother and I, each, got a GBA SP for Christmas. Mine's was blue and my brother's is red. I liked playing games like Donkey Kong Country and Hamtaro on the GBA SP. I remember that also I also watched a few episodes of Pokemon on my Game Boy by the GBA Video carts. That was very useful and fun to me when I went on an East Coast road trip to NYC back when I was 10. A few months later on Christmas, my brother and I, each, got the PSP. That was when we stopped playing our Game Boys. However, now I'm 24. And a few months ago, weeks after I got the SNES Classic during this past Christmas, I discovered my brother's GBA SP along with Pokemon Gold and LOZ: The Minish Cap in a carrying case inside a cluttered bottom drawer. Since then, I started to play with it again and even casually carry it. I also just got a headphone jack for the GBA SP as well as a new battery. At first, the GBA sounds retro today, but its not really that old. The only generation separating the 6th Gen, the generation of GBA, from the current generation of the Switch and the 3DS, is the generation of the DS and the PSP. So right now I realized the GBA is not that old enough to be considerd retro. Just outdated. But I believe the original Game Boy and Game Boy Color is. I'm not a total Cranky Kong. As a matter of fact, when I have enough money, Ill buy either a 2DS XL or Switch Lite.

Foto sent me... So watching this first video...my thoughts: Watch those audio levels off the top, I missed the first thing you said as the mix was too hot. I actually like your coverage and use of music generally, just watch those dissolves. Your on camera is solid, confident which is really hard to get down. I would offset your key light a bit, it just makes the lighting on your face so flat. Your background is pretty cool. Your BROLL is really good, I would suggest coming up on camera a few more times during your presentation, face time is key for the viewer to connect to you. Just a few more times, you can script it out and only shoot that part you know will be on camera, it helps if it's a "personal thought" moment like "I like this better now because"...when you tell the audience something specific like that another option vs just seeing that thing you are saying is to lead with YOU telling US that, THEN showing it. You can use the talking head bit as a reset point for when you cut back to your broll. Your info was good, delivery was good...overall I think pretty solid. For me the first thing that got me was your levels, really pay attention to those. You don't want to scare the s**t out of someone just starting off with too loud music or make them say "WHAT" when we can't hear the first thing you say. I'm not a particularly easy person to please out the gate, but I was actually pretty impressed with what you have created so far. Granted I only watched one video, but you obviously know what you're doing. The Critic has Spoken
@LukePollack5 жыл бұрын
I appreciate the feedback and constructive criticism. Didn't really realise those levels were too hot in the beginning, but in hindsight I can see that they were a bit loud. Thanks for the kind words, definitely trying to transition to having more face time on the videos. Hope to see your thoughts more on the channel!
@thecritic28225 жыл бұрын
It’s really just in the first sentence. Like your cross dissolve was too long. The audio after that portion was fine. But it happened at such a critical time is the only reason I mentioned it.
