Hi, I'm the guy who made Nightlight. I wanna start off by thanking you for playing Nightlight, but I also want to explain something quick. Nightlight is not intended to be a retro-style Roblox game. I only used the noob/retro Roblox character for Beta for the familiarity. I wanted people to think Beta was a player if they happened to walk past him before he became a monster. The way I did it was done poorly, but It is NOT meant to be a retro Roblox style horror game.

I gotta admit, now that you’ve said this, it has made me realize that other than the two characters (Beta and the monster) having the noob designs, nothing in the game looks retro. weird strict dad upsets me because theres so much potential in the idea the title gives off. like. as someone who was abused by pretty much everyone who cared for me? id kinda kill for a horror game that explores that angle of it. which is what weird strict dad SOUNDS like. but no its just "your dad got possessed by a SCARY DEMON who kills people who dont sleep or something. and you cant go a full night without eating 500 packets of ramen noodles and if the generator isnt filled every half hour youll also die even though this appears to be a house in a regular neighborhood that isnt in an emergency situation and should be getting power from the citys power grid"

There are good ones out there, but yeah I also believe many are just jumping onto the trend to the point where it has become pretty saturated. Though I would argue that Home Alone is one that has a good execution compared to many!
