To this day Chris Benoit is easily the greatest technical wrestler in the history of professional wrestling. The fact that he is erased from history because of brain damage is an absolute sham and Vince should be ashamed of himself. Snuka beat his girlfriend to death in the 80s, Vince paid to make it go away, and Snuka is a hall of famer after the fact. Need I say more?
@emmanuelmoses72494 жыл бұрын
@@FrostWazowski Easy to say from your position..If you're Vince, it would be wise to distance yourself from a man that killed his own family.. Plus, it's not like Benoit's matches aren't still posted all over WWE Network anyway. They just don't publicly acknowledge him, for good reason.
@FrostWazowski4 жыл бұрын
@@emmanuelmoses7249 it didn't start that way though. For YEARS there was no Benoit mention at all anywhere, even on the network. They should at minimum mention him in passing when they list off things like the dudes who won the rumble from #1. They say two men but only say Shawn when they could say "Chris Benoit and Shawn Michaels" ... You can mention him and move to the bigger star to just kinda gloss over him at the same time.

Great analysis. I first saw this PPV in 2000 when the local video store got it for a rental. I knew about it, but there was no way my parents would buy PPV for me. Anyway Id already seen wrestling with shadows so I knew all about it. I'm canadian, but I was always an HBK fan. What I really came to say was, where is the Hollywood movie about the screwjob? Lets see a drama about Bret and Shawn breaking into the business, finally moving up to main event status after the old guys leave due to steriod scandal. The friendship fractures due to jealousy and the screwjob is the climax of the movie.

There's a "Dark Side Of The Ring" doco on the Montreal Screwjob, if you haven't seen it. It's on YT. Definitely worth checking out. And also on his doco, "The Best There Is, The Best There Was, The Best There Ever Will Be", Bret gives his point of view about the MSJ.
