I almost had the whole collection. Even though these look like low-budget figures, they were very cool and could mix and match with GiJoes and other small action figures. I had a lot of fun with these figures.

This toyline was very mysterious to me for a long time because I have a very early memory from maybe 1984 of playing with these toys in the bathtub and I always thought they were an offshoot of dungeons and dragons but never knew the name of the toyline. Some of my earlier toy memories along with dukes of hazard, Rambo, the Mr. T toy line and doll, Star Wars and another toy line that were like almost crystal warriors. They were like see though colored plastic looked like robot aliens almost. Can’t remember the name but it would have been between 82-84.

Best video ever Mike. You're probably the first person to cover the entire toyline. Thank you. This might be the most underrated toyline out there and for me personally it's the best toyline ever. These are the first action figures I remember playing with as a kid and the only toys I've held onto for the last 40 years. I just love the colors and the creature sculpts and mogs and jipps are fun to army build. This toyline is the reason I started collecting vintage toys 10 years ago. To answer your question. Lava man is only half a head higher than Raidy. (yeah, I have 3). The crocodile monster is called frogacuda, not frogdracula. And there's also a castle zendo version that functions as a shooting gallery with a dart gun. And if you want to show the glow in the dark feature properly just blast them with a UV lamp for a couple of seconds.They'll light up the room with an eerie green glow. 😁

Yep this line is a bit hard to nail down details on with conflicting resources and very little coverage here on KZbin. Yep I got the Frog name wrong but he does look like he could be a dracula figure. NOBODY HAS 3 LAVA MEN! That sounds like a line from back to the future

Very interesting line! I think I may have had the two headed guy at one point. A suggestion- I use a black light or uv flashlight on my glow stuff, it charges instantly and glows much more intensely than with room light exposure.

Incredibly unique and creative line, The Other World was, thank you for covering it with all these new details, Tydirium! I had the hawk, the dragon, hero, mini figures, the castle and that plastic map. Great series and art work/packaging too. Thanks! For some reason, it reminds me of the BlackStar figures and animated Filmation series which I have on DVD.

Yes the cool thing about these is they could compliment many toy lines from the 80s that dealt in the sword and sorcery realm

@@tydiriumhanger1320 Agreed. Great collection you have, and clever improvisation with the Lava men and Catapult monster, as well as the tri-castle. Excellent, thank you for covering The Other World in depth.

I think this was overshadowed by the more popular He-man and Masters of the univerise action figures that were also sold during this era. But Zendo was a pricey hobby, you probably first buy the castle, but's thats you get, all of it's action figures were sold serperately.

I love these bendy weirdo toys! I scored a near complete collection of these for the pre pandemic price of $300... just need Castle Zendo Moc and Antor. At the time i couldn't believe i was dropping that kind of the cash on bendy figs. Glad i did! Frog-acula would be a way cooler name, but I think the swamp monster guy is called Frog-a-cuda. As a kid, i had the scaffolding from the castle in my pet garter snake's tank for years. Thanks for giving this obscure "toyline" some love!
@tydiriumhanger1320
@tydiriumhanger1320 Жыл бұрын
For the most part these toys are affordable but then you get into some that are just rare and expensive. Good score if you got the lava man and weapon master in there you did very well. That scaffolding for the castle seems very brittle surprised it did not break
@bobmosh4970
@bobmosh4970 Жыл бұрын
Sure did get the mintiest complete weapons master and lava man ever! All the figures are in completely unused condition with all their accessories. The scaffolding was broken and just tossed in as terrain for the snake to climb around... I was a kid, but now my snakes all have beautiful bioactive planted vivariums, so vintage toys stay in my collection where they're safe! You and Robo are my favorite toy channels dude... no over the top fake sounding voices, and only real enthusiasm for things you are excited by. I also appreciate that you don't whine and complain all day... it's fine to express disapointment when things let you down, but i love that you address any issues and move on hoping for future improvement. Keep up the great chronicles of forgotten playthings!

Cool and weird line for sure! My parents didnt have much money when I was growing up so I received these figures instead of Masters of the universe. I had the two headed dragon, the giant bird the green guy with the 4 arms, the little trolls, and the red guy that looked like the guy with the 4 arms. I had no idea there was so much to this line. It's great to see these again, brings back a lot of memories thanks!

One of the fun parts of collecting vintage is finding out the rest of the line and what all was made. As kids most of us only got a small portion of the entire collection of any given toy line because there was just sooo much stuff out there fighting for our money

Awesome collection. We had a lot of these as kids. I was poor, so these must have been really cheap compared to MOTU and other contemporaries for us to have so many of them. And FYI, it's Froggacuda, like barracuda haha not Frog Acula lol

I always felt like the fantasy lines that are described as “knock offs” were more deeply rooted in sword and sorcery fantasy than MOTU. I always loved the Frazetta style artwork on Galaxy Warriors packaging, ect. MOTU has sword and sorcery elements for sure, but the darkness and edges were not as present, due to the tie in with the childrens tv show.

I had Zendo and Honda that came with a Mog in a three pack. I wonder if anyone described He-Man to grandma and she came back with Ronin lol. I thing Ronin was disount He-Man but the female warrior was pre She-Ra. I also remember the castle being either in the Sears Wish Book or J.C.Penny catalog. I believe i saw a gift back that came with some figures and 3 Jipps and 3 Mogs. Somewhere in the Multi Verse, theres a toy line called Another World which consists of 5 POA figures with bend-em hands that hold weapons tightly so we don't lose them😂

@@tydiriumhanger1320 Suppose it was easier to produce and cost less, seeing they were the cheaper of the fantasy brands at the time (most probably sold in dollar stores)

I had the castle and the really cool dragon, and the first roller creature with his rider, but then my step dad had gotten a few action figures from a completely different toy line and kind of threw it all together for Christmas that year, I wish I had an idea of what became of all my toys, because I could sure use the money today! The other toys were more G.I. Joe style articulation, but one was a red bat like man with black rubber wings, his sculpting was really detailed, and the other was a green humanoid. Dragon which had a crazy amount of texture and detail, I have no idea what toy line they came from, I was 6 years old when I received them, of anyone has any ideas let me know.
