The Defiant's ramming performance is outstanding. Imagine a refit of the class that specializes in this discipline: No pulse phasers or quantum torpedoes, but more armor and more powerful impulse engines and a minimal crew complement situated at the rear instead. Of course it is commanded by Mr. Worf. The cloaking device could also come in really handy for this as this kind of 'weapon' does not require decloaking first. Could be the most up-to-date ship in the entire fleet because every successful deployment would involve a stay at the next starbase for some more or less significant rebuilding afterwards.

Impressive battle. Too bad that the Enterprise-F can't launch the Aquarius escort in this mode. However I think someone should make another update of the Enterprise-F. In STO, the Enterprise-F was refited to the Yorktown configuration after the Iconian war. She has received a major upgrades like a new deflector dish, nacelles, bigger impulse engines etc. And of course I must mention the F from the mirror universe. Terrans did even more extensive upgrades, like phaser lance and torpedo pod launcher on the secondary hull.

Kirk: A note to the galley, Romulan Ale no longer to be served at diplomatic functions. E-F facing three Defiant classes. Destroys all three and a little bit of hull damage. E-F: It's just a flesh wound. This was a fun match. I agree you must have hit a critical system to have destroyed the Enterprise-F. It's a shame the game crashed. Got to love being able to to multi-target shots. I don't care what ship you're in. If you have that capability best to use it for sure. The Defiant can take punishment A LOT of punishment, especially if the class of ship has ablative armor. Although as you said up to a point. Even then with ablative armor the ship can be destroyed. I would imagine by era Picard series I'm sure all the Defiant class ships do. In fact I'd imagine most of Starfleet ships had ablative armor by then.

A scenario I keep daydreaming is a refit Ambassador with a handful of Defiant class behind the lines of the Dominion war, generally transporting VIPs across federation space (or to the front lines) and acting as a mini backup fleet to patrol areas where they couldn't commit top of the line ships. I think the fact that ambassador is the first ship equipped for civilians would allow crews to be deployed on defiant duty for longer while swapping for ambassador lite duty.

The Defiant-class may be using "older" tech. But it that tech was very advanced at the time and holds up into the early 25th century. Plus, the Defiant-class is a unique beast of a starship in that it is the first true warship Starfleet built in a long time if not ever. Combat is what it excels at.

I don't get why the executives thought giving the F five minutes of spot light and then throwing it away was a good idea. It's a fan-made ship for Star Trek Online. I was excited to see it become canon. But what did Alex Kurtzman do? Spit in the face of every fan and threw it away like garbage. P*ssed me off.

@@ral_ordo5157 My biggest gripe that for some reason I just cant let go of, is the change of the Registry for the Excelsior...When I saw the screen and it showed USS Excelsior and not NCC2000 I Legit went...WTAF. Someone I know said, ya but it changed ships...I said...So did the Enterprise! Its still NCC 1701. lol, the stupid things to be peeved about, but it bothers me lol.

@@sabrevanson4412 yeah but for some reason the Excelsior never got to keep the NCC-2000 registration. There was in 2365 the Excelsior NCC-27445 then in 2401 it was NCC-42036. I guess it didn’t distinguish itself enough to keep the NCC-2000. It should have though.

First, Three cheers to Hexagonal Nexus. I really like this version of the Defiant. And I'm in agreement, she's still a tough, powerful ship, even against the Enterprise F's clear advantage in technology. But in the end, the F was still the winner here.

Let's get the record straight. The Enterprise F was meant to be a step back into the Golden Age of exploration. There were no wars to fight (at the time,) only to go back and into the unknown. It isn't a purpose built combat vessel like the anti-Borg fleet, but can stand on it's own. It is meant to awe the ship made first contact with and show them what being a part of the Federation can bring them. On another subject, do a battle where you have all of the Excelsior variants and offshoots, ie Proto-Excelsior, Probert-Excelsior (if in mods) Excelsior, Excelsior II, Lakota, Centaur, Curry, etc.

I can't wait until someone imports the Typhoon into BC now that STO has remastered it into a functional and coherent ship. Especially given that it's lore is that it was passed over for being too much of a warship when competing with the Oddy, only to be brought back and refitted into a functional ship that fills a similar role to what the Sovereign did to the Galaxy

Those Defiants took waaay too much punishment. Defiant is tough, but not that tough. They could only take a few unshielded Breen torpedo hits before it exploded. Their shields were capable, but not that tankie.

Their armor generator also requires power. They were hit with the dampening weapon which would also compromise their armor. Definitely punched well above her weight, but they aren't quite as tanky as depicted here. The human factor makes a huge difference when it comes to the Defiant and spreading damage. The "AI" is too much like Doom

Yeah, for mod content there's always the people who make their favorite ship and then beef it up beyond belief. The Defiant at the start eats 10 quantum torps to a single facing and it just drops that facing down to 27% and then at 4:55 eats another bunch of quantums and other fire that finaly collapses the shields, more quantums fire... 50% hull. It's silly.

Usually what happens is, you set it to 100% and then the game moves it back to 50%. Another annoying glitch is, when you set the phaser power to a 100% on some ships, it limits the amount of torpedoes you can fire. This only happens in Kobayshimaru, not Bridge Commander Remastered. I may have set it to a 100%, but the game kept moving it back (might have been cut out of the video..or I forgot) 😬🖖

A bit of cheating let you win that first fight. We know from DS9 that cloaked ships can be detected in a shield bubble or at least the defiant can be. If you go by lore, you shouldn't cloak and run right next to a ship. They would find you and hit you hard since you'd be defenseless while cloaked. In the EP where the defiant was first shown, they knew a small ship was in their shields and cloaked. Even though the game lets you do it, its kinda cheating if you go by lore.

There is a ship model in Bridge Commander where the Enterprise E can saucer separate. It was also mentioned by one of the ship designers. However it really doesn't look right! Based on how many lives the Saucer Section of the D saved, it does make sense to have this feature. With regards to the F there is no mention of this 🖖

Ok officially calling bs once and for all in this game. Ive seen you hit single quantum salvos and do more damage than this ships, “dual” quantums. Watched something like 15 quantum’s hit a defiant here toward the end do almost nothing to it. And way to dumb an AI when fighting the enterprise itself, and weaker because it doesn’t super boost its stats like you do every time when you take the ships…

I'd love to see the AI get cleaned up. First and foremost, fire full salvos consistently when it has a good chance of hitting. The other big one would be to get rid of cloaking cheesiness that causes it to ignore targets that de-cloak that should be the obvious priority when they can be targeted again. It turns cloaking into an "AI, go shoot at someone else while I continue to unload on you" button. Also with cloaking... breaking the target lock is fine, but it'd be better if the AI could still take a shot at where the ship was vectoring to after it starts cloaking for, say, three seconds. I love watching the battles, but they definitely aren't "fair." Would love to see the AI not be able to get cheesed as easily so that besides the results would mean a little more.
