I have long loved the 1980's era Constitution II class even more than subsequent Starfleet designs. However it is hard to deny that the updated aesthetic of the SNW Constitution class offers a lot to appreciate, I wonder what the updated aesthetic for the Constitution II class would look like.
@KrayzeeAssKrisReturnsСағат бұрын
Probably just light up the Bussard Collectors as the SNW ship looks to be a bridging design between the movies and original series. I reckon the front windows would be retained as well. The Conny Jr. design really has held up for the last 45 years, so no need fixin' what ain't broken.

IMO The Neo Constitution class fits the new age of exploration for Starfleet, BUT I hate the fact that they downgraded their flagship from a Odyssey to a smaller ship, The Titan should've stayed as the Titan and the Enterprise F should've been given more screen time
@RoballTV2 сағат бұрын
They never said the Enterprise G was the flagship, did they? Not saying it's not reasonable to assume, since every prior Enterprise was, just that I don't remember any confirmation of it. Feels like Starfleet are happy to just let the G be a 'scrappy underdog' ship with a crew of 'ne'er do wells'.
@deadma9kk265Сағат бұрын
@RoballTV Yea The G was not mentioned to be the new flagship but I just don't really like how it kinda breaks the cycle of each Enterprise being bigger and much more advanced and powerful than the last one, Constitution class -> Excelsior class Excelsior -> Ambassador class Ambassador -> Galaxy class Galaxy -> Sovereign class Sovereign-> Odyssey class Then we got Odyssey -> Neo Constitution class which is kind of a downgrade BUT I do like how it loops back to the Constitution class after all

I enjoyed watching the original series, and then in the mid-70s I picked up a book of "Star Trek Blue Prints" with various ships, including a "Dreadnought" (first time I recall seeing something with three nacelles). *That said, I'd also love to serve on the Enterprise, like my dad (*AIrcraft Carrier) (*Bio-dad, as opposed to Adopted father). As always, thank you so very much for the videos. And best wishes of the season.

I'm not sure we can say the SNW Enterprise is an updated visual. Originally I would say yes we can accept that's really what the Connie always looked like but the New Jersey in Picard confirms the ship had the ToS look. That likely means the Connies had to of received a major refit before ToS.

I actually like the kelvin enterprise. The original series version seems way under sized and underproduced for an organization as large and resource rich as the UFP. The only problem I have is that in order for the kelvin enterprise to still feel powerful but not invulnerable they have to make more powerful bad guy ships and the way they went about doing that made the enterprise feel kinda weak. I would have loved to see the enterprise get into a fight with some romulan ships and absolutely body them but then when confronted by a super weapon or hostile entity then it needs to run or hide. That’s something the original series and strange new worlds do very well in particular.

first off, my opinions are my opinions and are not even considered beta canon, let alone alpha canon, so you do not have to get started on how I'm wrong in my thinking. I'd serve on tos era movies Constitution class, sure. would do Excelsior too, even up to the final refit. not the neo constitution, that gets called conie 3 cause they call the enterprise a refit connie 2, and it is not, it is the class's final refit using Excelsior Tech with likely a few ships getting the treatment or the final ones out of the San Fransisco Shipyards or the ones on Mars. Now do not get me wrong, I like the neo constitution's look and design, I think it needs to have a better armored hull and weapons layout.

I am not much of a fan of the 2019 Enterprise, and the scale of it's size is just crazy. The Enterprise for "Strange New Worlds" is pretty damn good looking.....the way it should of looked like from the beginning.....but, those were different "budget" days....and mostly computer generated. But, if it was not for Gene Roddenberry, and Matt Jeffries ( if I recall ), then the Star Trek, and Enterprise, would of not been now. The Enterprise, from 2245 to it's destruction, in the later 23rd century, was alot like the CV 65 (?) Enterprise aircraft carrier...wich was the only ship that got through many battles....and still came home, where it was highly decorated
