I thought Pedigo was original of Spinrite manufacturer that recall from a book Billy Westmorland on Smallmouth.
@RetroBassin4 жыл бұрын
Yes, so it looks like that bait was invented by Cecil Pedigo in Bowling Green, KY, in 1956 and made famous by Billy Westmoreland in the 1970s. The bait I bought was a reissue, but even that website has since gone defunct!

Bill dance, Jimmy Houston, the linders, Pete maina, my dad and brother (too many other great anglers to list), are the absolute reasons I got into fishing! Without them it wouldn't be the same! I absolutely love and respect those Ole school guys that really made the craft what it is today, especially with "catch and release" tactics it really does help the fishery and seeing I'm a musky angler we need all the help we can get!

Cool channel. Would you consider the Mann’s Jelly Worm and the Charlie Brewer Slider worm retro lures? Both are still in production and the Sliders are still made in Tennessee.

I totally would! To me, if was hatched prior to 2000, it's cool enough to be old school. I love that some good, old baits are still in production. Lurenet is actually reissuing some cool old baits.

@@RetroBassin Then I've got a tackle box full of retro baits. Even the old Strike King frog. Did a bit of binge watching this afternoon. There is lots of retro lures and soft plastics in the Bass Pro catalog if you are old enough to know what old is. What makes me laugh is the price difference from what Trackers costs now to what they sold for back at the start. That red paint must cost a fortune and the fancy chrome wheels just don’t add much to the increase in price. Look thru your old catalogs and see what they cost back then.
@RetroBassin4 жыл бұрын
Hey Gizmo! I kinda prefer the look of the original...but that’s not a surprise!
@gizmocarr30934 жыл бұрын
@@RetroBassin Back when Trackers first were sold they were great bargains for a basic fishing boat. Now days not so much; there are boats you can setup with better equipment and spend a little more and get much more. I study them for years thinking this was the best boat for the money. But, when I scraped my pennies together and was ready to buy one. I knew more about fishing boats. When you buy a Tracker you get a package deal with few to no options. If they gave you a choice of options that would likely up the cost even more than it already is. For a little more money I got a fiberglass 16 foot skiff hull, a 24-volt GPS Minn Kota spot lock and Minn Kota on board charger. I got a Lowrance with side scan and GPS too. The only difference was I got a 20hp four stroke motor. The reason for that is: I fish more lakes with horsepower motor restrictions. The boat loaded with just me still goes 20 miles an hour. The boat horsepower rating is 50. It also came with a folding trailer tongue that sealed the deal. If you just upgrade to a 24-volt motor you will never regret doing it; I promise you that. I wanted to buy a Tracker for years but bought a boat made 7-miles from my house and have no regrets. www.hopliteboats.com

Checked that website out. Loved the 16 Pro...a sweet little fishing machine! Carpet-free decks?
@gizmocarr30934 жыл бұрын
@@RetroBassin He makes one hull and is willing to change the inside construction to what you want. When you are standing on the front; it sits so close to the water; it looks like you are inches off the water because you are. If you are in big waves water will come over the bow. However, fishing from the back and using the remote for the electric motor it works like a dream in rough water. It goes faster in rough water than flat water if you are running with the wind and waves. He sold four to the river patrol police for chase boats. They must run pretty good with a 50-hp motor. Mine is full to the brim with tackle. I never stripped mine down to see what it would do empty. The difference between a 24-volt motor and 12 volt is amazing. If you hit max it will toss you out if you are not careful; you can run it all day and never need to worry about it dying. I can sit in rough water and wind on spot lock; eat lunch, work on tackle and never go anywhere until I want. They make fishing so much less work and fishing open deep water spots easy.
