Bianca basically calling her rape victim mother a whore is pretty awful. She's out of line there. As for Raine, sorry, but as a mother, if someone had my child out panhandling and skipping school, I'd do whatever I could within reason to get that person away from my child. Raine isn't Erica's responsibility. It's not her job to find Raine a place to stay, etc.

Besides, Erica has said some awful things to Mona that I’m sure deserved a good smack. Just like Miranda and Spike will do to Bianca and Kendall. They’ll say things out of anger that’ll deserve a good slap across the face. It was out of line, and there’s no excuse for it but so was Erica and Bianca was just on a roll and couldn’t stop. There's a mom not jumping for joy... and then there's a mom who actively tries to eliminate and deny every possibility of her daughter being gay at every chance she gets. And that's Erica. A selfish mother making a difficult and challenging time in her daughter's life all about her. It makes me sick seeing so many people feel bad for Erica. I hope anyone who is coming to terms with their sexuality and watching these videos and seeing these comments don't believe that someone else's comfort comes before their own truth. It's disgusting that people honestly believe Erica should expect the very same consideration that she isn't even giving to her own daughter.

you know i get it it's a tv soap opera, everything has to be drama and bianca is a teenager, but i didn't like how it felt like bianca was always making everything choice erica was because she was gay, when if i had a child gay or straight and they had a friend keeping them out all night on a school night, skipping class sneaking them into the house without my permission yeah i'm not going to think i want my child around that person

maybe not...but Bianca was raised to be a good person. and its a double standard to teach your children to "help thy neighbor" then say, "oh that person isn't your responsibility" erica did NOT like Raine. plain and simple. if she did, she would have helped her. I would not be able to live with myself if a friend of mine was homeless and out on the street and did nothing to help. thats what Bianca did to Raine. She wasn't a stranger, she was her friend. Bianca i love you girl but lets be honest Erica was right that Raine wasn't a good influence. The payoff was wasn't right but Raine isn't someone I would want my daughter hanging out with either. She breaks rules , she living on the streets likely around bad people and drugs. Raine could have gotten Bianca in serious trouble

100% agree. She encouraged Bianca to do something that she knew would upset her mother (get a piercing). She wasn’t a good influence. It was Erica’s right as Bianca’s mother to protect her child from someone who could cause trouble. Erica may have gone about it the wrong way (paying Raine to leave town), but I don’t blame her for wanting to protect her daughter.

Common sense would tell you, then, that if you constantly reject your daughter's sexuality, constantly refusing to talk about it with her, yet always find ways to keep her apart from other lesbian girls... It's not wild to think because you're doing it because she's gay. Like, let's use our brains, here. It's not like Bianca's accusing Erica of not letting her borrow the Jag to go to the mall because she's gay. She's accusing Erica of interfering in more than one of her friendships with other young women because she's gay. Be the mother, flex your power, make all the decisions you want. But if you're not nurturing a relationship based on love and acceptance, just constant refusal and rejection you haven't earned the respect you need for a child to honor those rules -- just for them to actively rebel.

@@janetoconnor3636 Thank you! She didn’t have a problem with people who are gay. It was the last thing she expected for her own child, and I get that. But Erica’s issue wasn’t really with Bianca’s sexuality. She didn’t want her child to suffer because of it. And even now in 2023, we see how the LGBTQ+ community is treated. It was even worse in 2001.
