Fantastic! You look and sound your most enthusiastic ever with the videos for the fan made Viper and the Raider. Incredible! I'm so happy for you and I'm happy too. Fans have revised, reshaped, and repaired vehicles for decades. But in recent years, with 3D printing, they make anything possible. I also like how you are open to reproductions (3D printing). I am too. I bought a Kenner Imperial shuttle more than 20 years ago with broken wings. It stayed in a box in my closet for years because I could not repair them. But then, 3 1/2 years ago, I bought custom, 3D printed gears to repair the broken wing mechanism. Now, my Kenner Imperial Shuttle has more value to me personally than the Hasbro Imperial Shuttle I bought (with a different wing mechanism). Fantastic! And thank you and Retroblasting for everything you do!

I think people are missing out if they don't like the fan stuff. Its how I feel when someone says they have no interest in getting to playing homebrew games. Some of the absolute best games you can play on retro systems are homebrew games.
@ironwarmonger4 жыл бұрын
I feel the same about home brew games, my persona RPG system of choice is one I make by combining aspects of several different game, and adding a great deal of personal rules to it. That being say, I am not a toy collector, but I am a game, both RPG's and Wargames (not Warhammer). I have recently found that not only is the home wargameing area booming, there are 3D printers that direct their marketing to mini gamers. Elegoo show a mini figure for the color of their resins, not just a color box!

Always like seeing Michael happy with awesome stuff especially in these trying times Hell this is another EXCELLENT reason why Copyright should be way shorter than it currently is! The corporate owners of our shared culture don't care about the work only how much money they can squeeze out of it. These works may not bring them in the massive profits they want and so won't do it. These ships are the products of amazing fans who want to create with their childhood culture. Reduce Copyright back to 28 years maximum!

customization has become my new joy in collecting for vintage star wars...NOW the asterik for me and I concede it is that I already completed my vintage collection...every figure, final 17, all the vehicles play sets etc... so when I was finished I felt truly sad and felt I had lost a hobby as there was nothing left to collect... modern mostly sucks... so finding things like this... or refurbishing vintage X wings to then apply custom decals so I have a blue leader, or green squadron or black squadron X wing makes me really happy. I made some custom metallic blue stickers for a 2nd vintage B wing so I can add that to my blue squadron. If your vintage collection is still incomplete I guess I understand maybe your dislike of custom or repro items but once you find yourself with nothing left to collect you will fall in love with things such as this.

I believe the yellow missiles on the prototype Raider may have originated with a VTOL jet toy that was released by Mattel under the "Shogun Warriors" toy line (specifically from the anime "Danguard Ace"). It was an imported and repackaged Japanese toy originally from Bandai, but it had the same design missiles in the wings, molded in yellow. Great review and you are right. These toys are tapping into something which is untouched by the current market.
