I always try make sure i have a 1 solo road at each end of a motorway (treat it like an on off ramp), means i can connect roundabouts to motorways and it means i can readjust an area without killing my game by rebuilding motorways.
@RobBCactive3 жыл бұрын
Yes, the traffic backs up when it has to turn tight or a motorway with a T junction, a Y is much faster and works to take 2 colours to a distant dest, even without space for roundabouts.

You can use the bridges as kinda motorways by bypassing huge amounts of distance over water. Don't have to be straight or short. Can even do long curves through the ocean
@Retroflux3 жыл бұрын
I have definitely maybe kind of sort of been doing that, Moscow is a great candidate for that one!
@RobBCactive3 жыл бұрын
Part of the problems near the end was caused hy X junctions and acute turns at the dests which need smooth flow. Notice motorway traffic which gently curves at end maintains good speed, filtering in other traffic at the end point results in reduced capacity. Just hooking it up changing direction often has the cars turning back on themselves so they nearly stop. Adding single houses to mix traffic roads is OK so long as it's a Y junction before not at the dest entrance. I suspect cutting the road between green & yellow dest would have improved traffic by forcing greater use if 2nd bridge, someone commented on the "inefficient roundabout". Again the entrances should be simple T or Y so cars enter/leave efficiently without stalling flow.

So it’s possible to reach a point where your factories reach their limit and as long as you have enough houses feeding into them the game will run forever without adjustment. At that point it’s just waiting to rack up score, about 25k points per hour of waiting around. I found that about 13 factories is the optimal number to sustain. I have gotten 44,444 points on the Los Angeles map and 20,000 points on the Beijing map. I’m on the Tokyo map right now and I have a game going. I’m planning to stop at 9,999 since scores higher than that don’t show up on the leaderboards? Anyways I found out that if a double factory appears, your basically eventually going to die since those clog up no matter what you do or how efficiently. Plan efficiently and and try to control the area where factories spawn and you can do it too! This is only my third day playing :)

What do you do when you've played 60+ games and it has never given you four motorways? What do you do when it has only given you one bridge (that you need where it is) and it then randomly spawns your first store of a new color, on a Tuesday, in a position where you need two more bridges to connect it to the one/two house(s) of that color?
@Retroflux3 жыл бұрын
If you made it through 60+ games without a motorway, you should have bought a lottery ticket, that's a 0.00000319% chance. If the second thing happens, restart lmao

I've been dabbling, but there is a way to eventually go infinite. It's tough, but possible to basically set your final score at this point. It requires patience and perfect execution though, I'll probably try it after my full course playthrough!
@ahmadnurislah20063 жыл бұрын
@@Retroflux I guess this game is based on engineering experience and experiment. So that if we build the traffic flow from the very very beginning of a level with an engineer perspective, the flow will do just fine when the city gets crowded. But again, the random spawns will ruin everything. Need more clever zoning with spare road tiles and a big bag full of luck I guess 🤣

Once I've finished the series of maps, I'm definitely going to be making a much more involved strategy guide, and dealing with spawns is definitely going to be in there. Stay tuned! :)

What a weird concept. You'd think they'd have made the houses the things that are required to be connected. In real life buildings only are there for people to come and use them right?
@Retroflux3 жыл бұрын
What's even more weird is that some people will shut down an entire city because they can't get ther loaf of bread from their specific store in time. It's a very odd community, I must admit. Granted, 20 seconds in game is like 3 days to get bread, so I can understand why they are upset!

Once the map maxes out, if you can sustain the pip growth you're going infinite. Once you cross ~20K, the traffic demand can't go higher and you just go until you don't want to go anymore, honestly.
