Been hoping you'd do a review of this. I also purchased and received mine about a week ago, but haven't gotten around to unboxing. Going to use it w/ a 65" Samsung UHD TV n the living room of my new home, as a media/gaming center. Glad to see it can handle some Windows 11 / Steam titles as well, but I'm really happy to see that it can handle Xbox & 360 emulation as that was my console peak.

I think you could have pushed that SER8 much harder with the games. I have a slightly lower-end 7840U in my laptop and I've been able to get RDR2 to play on low settings. Can you please show more PS3, Xbox360 games when you test these higher-end mini PCs?

You could use the safety pin to pick the rubber plugs out too, you can get a big pack of them at the dollar store, they're useful to have around for other stuff too LOL

The million dollar question: Does it work for modern arcades like Teknoparrot ( in Hyperspin 12TB)? Most Retro and PC games run on most of the latest MiniPCs (and high spec PCs) But will Ser8 handle Teknoparrot? (it already depends a lot on its powerful GPU) :O

I tried it with Teknoparrot and it was a good experience. I can't say every single game works but I tried about 10 games and had a very good experience with it.

What is the BEST and EASIEST plug and play console for someone that knows nothing about mini pcs or downloading I just want to open the box and play games. I’ve watched a few videos of yours and then I find out toward the end that I need to download drivers or etc. Please help

I can share what I did, that worked out really well. I bought an ser5 Max on prime Day special last year, it might have been at Christmas but the price was really good. Picked up a kinhank 2 TB game rom drive, plugged it in, booted up to that. I happen to have an old controller lying around, but I find that PS3 original controllers or PS2 ones are almost always available at used gaming stores or at like salvation army for dirt cheap. I really prefer the original controllers to the aftermarket ones, I just think the build quality is better It'll take you a little bit to figure out batocera, but honestly the whole thing has been really plug and Play and I've also been able to download and add games to the drive pretty easily. The five Max handles PS3 and down with no problem at all, so I've got to imagine that that or anything newer would handle that just fine. Fine. I'm using it mostly for retro stuff though, so I can't comment on AAA games. Hope this maybe helps!

These mini PCs are as good for gaming as PS4 PRO/XBOX ONE X. If you are happy with 1080P/Med settings/60FPS, then they can run every game. But if you want more performance and higher resolution, better buy a current gen console or a good gaming PC with a dedicated GPU.

@@heybravo23 instead of waiting for 1 person's opinion on something you're interested in, what i tend to do is simply do a search for each of the products (in this case mini PC's) and get extensive reviews from big tech creators to regular everyday users and see which videos have the same pros and cons and whether or not it's something i can overlook...1 person's gripe may not be the same as yours... for instance... this beelink basically has the same chip and igpu as the minisforum um780 xtx (the difference being AI capabilities) from what i read and saw from testers they are essentially the same... however, one was released a year ago which means you can get the same performance for a lot less these days... not to mention that the minisforum comes with an oculink port which means you can get the best performance out of it with an egpu...this beelink does not have that oculink option but cost a lot more.....however, if you want to compare exact chipsets and igpu, then you can look into the aoostar gem12 mini PC...which in fact comes with a dedicated oculink port and you can get for $549 brand new...in fact, i decided that after several video reviews on it that i will be getting that instead of the minisforum xtx.

Wow expensive. Im running a hp mini elite desktop. 2.5ghz 16gb ram 1 tb ssd to. Paid 160 for it. It runs all up to ps3. Some aaa aswell. For price cq value i think i got the best deal. To spend 6 times as much foir only a double mayble triple in perfomance is very expensive. Sure i would be able to get something like this but much cheaper tho its really small mine is bigger but not much. Thx good review

This can handle any emulators. I agree the Steam deck is great tho for everything plus gives you the ability to use as a handheld and a home console setup. Not everyone wants a handheld setup though and some will want the ability to use it as a regular pc too.

( inside Hyperspin 12TB) I understand that it depends a lot on a powerful GPU, however I understand that in your PC Configuration you have a GTX 1650 (and its equivalent to this Mini PC would be a Radeon 780M) It's the only thing I need to decide to buy my MiniPc, what do you think?
