I like the way that it feels like the way that it looks. It's light but it's still very sturdy. And I like the fact that it's got that mattered texture to the plastic show which is something that the rest of them don't particularly have. Zu I really like your reviews I find them super entertaining keep dropping these videos man, absolutely we do have anbernic fatigue right now but content like this keeps us going so big thank you for this video drop 🔥🔥🙏🏾

Use caution. Watching an experienced person with the right tools doesn't mean everyone is capable of replicating the same results. The RG40XXV from what I've seen in many review videos is one of the rare Anbernic releases that seems to pass the 'shack' test. With the screws and retention clips it would be real easy to make a mistake. Best of luck to those with the patience and talent to do this. This is more a cautionary tale for those who always seem to have extra parts left over after taking something apart and putting back together. I've gotten better at this over time. But definitely have a 'history' of my own with regards to this. I definitely liked seeing the battery is replaceable and not hardwired to the board. Would also like to know if this will work plugged in without a battery connected at all.

351v is still one of the best feeling handhelds IMO, for what it runs. This looks like it might be a worthy successor. I just wish the buttons and triggers had the same feel, instead of being more snappy.

The clicky back triggers and cardinal snapping are deliberate, at least the cardinal issue is fixable via software (as least in the 556 and cube thus far)

I used Foam Tape for the fix for a while and then one of my 4 pieces of Foam fell off and that button was messed up, but in the process of discovering what happened, I found the Perfect thing to use instead of Foam Tape. Velcro tape is Idea, only use the Softer side and you only need 2 pieces instead of 4, just make each side wide enough for 2 buttons. The Result is the buttons are Nice and Firm to press and no Jiggle at all. Maybe in the Future Anbernic will add springs or rubber Poppers like the other buttons have, but I am very happy with how it feels now

Anbernic shipped out a couple review units of an earlier XX device that had portmaster games preloaded and the portmaster community was v upset, so Anbernic pulled the image from distribution.

Very nice video! I'm glad they changed the placement of both the battery and CPU! I'm really not sure if I want one. I already have a 35XXSP and it's not going anywhere. lol The problems I have with the RGB are: A) it's an added cost that is only good for esthetics, keeping it from hitting the $50 mark. B) It drains the battery just that much faster.

After watching a dozen videos definitely have questions prior to receiving mine on Monday. Would have had today but UPS has held mine hostage for the weekend. As seems to be their SOP. Received it at my distribution hub at 1 in the morning on friday. Anyway. When playing via a HDMI does the screen default to the HDMI device or do both screens work at the same time? Have you been able to operate the device while plugged in to a power source? How well does it pair and work with alternative bluetooth controllers? Anbernic purports this to be running on a Linux OS. Have you tried to boot the unit with an alternate Linux OS? Would also like to know if this will work plugged in without a battery connected at all.

I just ordered the blue "indigo" 40XX V yesterday! I am actually torn on whether or not I will keep it stock or put CFW on it. It seems like the dream DMG handheld I have been waiting for so long. If it only came in other colors like yellow and replicate the classic yellow DMG with black buttons (which was my first GameBoy/handheld).

@Hranicator My experience with it has been pretty good overall! I chose the no games option and uploaded my own but you can choose the option where there are games loaded into a SD Card

There are glass screen protectors for this on Amazon, for now I cut a large plastic film one I had to fit but the glass will be the best protection and clarity you can get

The thing is okay...I mean its literally what you expect for $50 or so in terms of quality. Very light, buttons while functional are also very cheap and the screen is good but far from grear. Oh and the sound is again, what you get for $50 or so.

The main difference is size. If you're going to put it in a backpack and size isn't an issue, go 40XXV. If you want something you can slide into a coat pocket, then the 35XXP is your man. The processor is the same, so there's no real difference in performance or custom firmware.

It's not an ideal screen ratio for GBA, but honestly, I've been playing a lot of GBA on here and it's pretty good. I beat the GBA version of Link to the Past on the 40XXV for Game of the Month, and it was a blast. - Zu

Funny, this is also a very common metric for me when buying a handheld. You can tell even by the title screen intro if you're going to have a smooth experience with that one. I got the TSM to run it full speed on the latest Crossmix at 1x with some CRT scanlines so I am happy.

Adult... 4'' for my weak eyes. This is my first device, "flashed" knulli on other card... and quite happy with the device ... only sleep mode sucks (eats battery pretty fast). The upside its a Linux and you can just enable SSH and see what's going on in case of problems.

Hey Zu, you should check out Tales of Eternia on the ps1. It's got gorgeous sprite work and the best action combat on the system in my opinion, and an amazing story. It's an rpg that has held up surprisingly well.

Eternia's name was changed to "tales of destiny 2" for the english release. which makes things confusing because it has nothing to do with the prior game, tales of destiny and to make matters worse, bandai released an actual sequel to tales of destiny later on the ps2. As you'd guess, the actual sequel is also named tales of destiny 2. tldr the game I recommended is called "tales of destiny 2" on psx for the english version and has nothing to do with the ps2 game also called "tales of destiny 2." (that was a japan exclusive title, too.)
