Quite. Though Super Sentai has been running since 1975 and GoLion came out in 1981. It is kind of a loop, tbh. Without Voltron being successful in USA and introducing many of the Sentai tropes to western kids they wouldn't have taken a chance on adapting SS into Power Rangers.

A funny thing World Events did though, is commission "The Fleet of Doom" movie, where they had lion Voltron team up with Vehicle Voltron as a finale, even though in Japan, they were 2 separate series unrelated to each other.
