Lindsay Wagner really made this show. Not just because she was a beauty but also because her character was unique for a superhero on TV. Jaime was intellectual and principled and something of an introvert. She didn’t really relish being a superhero. She was willing to do it occasionally but she also wanted a private life. Lindsay had the acting chops to pull off this type of character.

Ron Ely was on Tarzan ('66-'68), among other things, and was a conventionally more handsome man/leading-man type, from a Hollywood POV. This is one of the few times that Jaime used her bionics forcefully against another person. (Fembots don't count.) Lindsay Wagner once said that she wanted Jaime to use her bionics against inanimate objects and not as a means to hurt someone else (the way Steve Austin did). If you notice, throughout the series she used her bionics to thwart others in a "MacGyver" style, i.e. immobilizing someone but not hurting them.
